Im not sure how you judge what a player is worth in terms of money.

If he helps them win the league or cup(s) then he is worth it surely

We would be a better team with cavani and as it is with tevez probably leaving at teh moment we will be weaker and chelski will be stronger than last year

Our plan b's need to be very good

We have improved in 2 areas we needed to...moer mobility in midfield (fernandinho) and width (navas).....but we need to improve our forward line if tevez leaves....

I dont buy the theory that dzeko is going to massively improve his alround game under MP nor do I believe guedetti is god enough

Look we already have his son Jesus, why would we need his old fella as well ????

A helluva lot of brinkmanship going on here I reckon. Madrid interested, the rags now interested (yeah, right) and rumoured to have signed for Chelsea for just a little less than the buyout clause.

I might be very, very wrong but anyone else smelling a rat?

Surely if he has signed for Chelsea (and I've seen no press so far today) then there would be banner headlines on the club sites at such a big signing rather than just rumours?

I'm also not entirely convinced the Isco deal is dead yet.

I hope you are right but I have a feeling the Isco ship has sailed - the RM machine is in overdrive - we don't stand a chance. On Cavani there's a long way to go but our best hope was Dzeko and that isn't gonna happen - suspect RM or Chelsea will pay a stupid fee ahead of us.

Looks like he has signed for Chelsea. They have stumped up the cash,

Napoli have reportedly accepted a €58 million offer for striker Edinson Cavani to join Chelsea, Radio Marte revealed on Monday night.

Radio Marte, Napoli's official radio station, made a statement citing a "very reliable source" who confirmed a deal has been struck to send Cavani to Stamford Bridge for €8.5 million a season.

The statement read: "We have received news in the office from a very reliable source that Napoli have sealed a deal with Chelsea for Cavani's sale.

"Rafa Benitez also gave the all-clear, but before making the move official Napoli want to secure the striker who will replace Il Matador.

"Aurelio De Laurentiis' club will pick up around €58 million, a slight discount on the buy-out clause, which is the same situation as Ezequiel Lavezzi to PSG last year. The player will earn €8.5 million per season plus image rights."

Reports on Saturday suggested Real Madrid were the frontrunners for Cavani's signature after Manchester City refused to pay the release clause demanded by Napoli.

Again, "...reportedly..." Like I say, I might well be in denial, but until it is on their respective official sites... there's many a slip twixt the cup and the lip.

I guess it makes sense with the connections between Rafa & Chelsea. Cavani is the ideal 'Drogba type' forward that Mouriniho likes to play with and he will be just as succesful. Chelsea have splashed the cash (again) and landed the main man.

If its true it's dissapointing especially if Isco does plump for Real Madrid. Our 2 reportedly main targets gone elsewhere. Seeing that Ancelotti has now been confimed at RM so the Isco deal may be wraped up pretty quickly.

We need a quality striker and have done for some considerable time.

I think this Radio story was denied by Cavani's agent last night but I think this will play out this way in the end - Chelsea will splash the cash to get their man.

So they are the official club radio station yet even they don't know for sure?

Probably ADL trying to panic everyone interested into bidding accept everyone is wise to his games so hes panicking because he won't be able to sell him for what he wants.
