Rafa Benitez Napoli have compiled a shortlist of possible transfer targets as they seek to bring in the players wanted by new boss Rafa Benitez.
The majority of the Partenopei’s transfer objectives currently ply their trade outside of Serie A and one spent last season under Benitez at Chelsea.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ramires of Chelsea and Alvaro Morata of Real Madrid are the two principal names on Benitez’s wishlist.
Napoli are also thought to be on the verge of signing Santos’s 23-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper Rafael Cabral.
There is still some contact between the Azzurri and Manchester City over 27-year-old Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko, although the Citizens feel Napoli’s valuation of €12-13 million is not enough.
The San Paolo based side are also developing an interest in Real Madrid’s 26-year-old Jose Callejon.
Despite the hardball line from Lyon that the player will not leave, Napoli are still believed to be in pursuit of 24-year-old Maxime Gonalons.
A plan is also thought to be in development for an exchange deal between Napoli’s 28-year-old Uruguayan midfielder Walter Gargano and Fenerbache’s Portuguese midfield Raul Meireles.
However it is thought that Napoli’s forays into the transfer market will not begin until Edinson Cavani’s agent arrives in Italy and announces his client’s intentions with the club.
