You keep on saying we prefer Rooney but there is no evidence of this at all. In fact everything points to the opposite. If we wanted Rooney we would have had him by now since he'll be much cheaper than Cavani.

Fuckinhell nip I told you mourinho was going to Chelsea since last December, when you thought he was a done deal here
Shame your mate didn't tell you that one pal :)
Rooney was target for Chelsea since Rooney had the break from football earlier in season.

As for Chelsea with Jose. My friend knew nothing and believed it'd be Pellegrini. Jose to Chelsea isn't as popular as Jose makes out. Emenalo has an opinion of him similar to yours.

You were right tbf. However Mancini staying must also count against you ;)

Its ok having a target value in mind but like BS says there is only one for sale and three potential bidders = silly price. A striker is our number one target and if something else has to give then so be it.

I suspect that Madrid feel Suarez will save them 20 million plus want less wages than Cavani so will look there to replace Higuain. I really see it as between us and Chelsea - and I genuinely believe neither club is prepared to get near the buyout considering the money which still would need to be paid to Cavani and his entourage.

There's a reason Falcao went to Monaco ... nobody else was willing to get near his buy out either. Both players are simply overpriced to a point where it's just not clever to pay the types of sums being demanded. Again, remember that you will be paying 50 million plus in wages over four years too. It's just not a deal which is practical unless the player comes with huge marketing potential ala Ronaldo/Messi/Aguero. Cavani's Uruguayan and Falcao Columbian, so their off the field value simply can't justify the mega fees involved.

Where's the evidence of Cavani?

Rooney won't be much cheaper at all. 40m-45m easy.
