'celebrity posters'

I've been reading this forum for well over a year now and I still come across people from time to time with thousands of posts that I never noticed before.

There are people with loads of posts who contribute very little to debate in the forum, then I've seen people with just a few posts who have contributed excellently. The number alone means very little to me.

(I would say that though as I have less than 200 ;))
this is true, i think i come under this category.
to be classed as a celebrity you must be recognised (by name not by face) by the majority of posters whether they are old or new, i don't think many fall into this.

Everyone really should check out that thread "Demise of bluemoon" upstairs.

It would appear that Dave wasn't hugged in the last few days and is a bit more downs than normal.

Is the forum really in need of a newbie forum, more mods and a clamp down on the CoC?

Definitely no, it will be soon at the stage where people are too scared to swear in case a mod bans them.

I was wary of debating with Damocles the other day when he called me a pillock when having my view on something football related.

I know if I had called him a pillock, I'd have been banned/warned.

When I was new, he called me a thick twat or something along those lines so I replied saying, "meet me at the next match and call me that" (I was new to forums and thought that it was lke real life and reacted as such).

I got a warning from him but I thought it rich as he had started the argument.

I like Damo on the whole but he shouldn't be a mod if he feels the need to "get personal" himself. I know I would never make mod material but neither would I want to be a mod.

I'd say a 'celebrity' poster would be ones that you might actually go upto in person and say 'aren't you that mcfcbluearmyctid? I love your work. Can I smash ones back doors in?'

There are posters on here who have a big presence e.g. Damocles, but I'd have no fucking idea who he was if I walked past him in the street!
