Celtic game - strict security measures announced (page 34)

Why didn't they just keep SS3 upper free and tell them to go in there if ticket

CL games are a pain in the arse with awful traffic, no beer, fans in home end. I think it's more likely that more will drop off although we may get more tourists to take up the slack.

I don't bother any more unless I fancy a particular game like Barca. Not regretting it so far. Enjoyed watching it on the tv last night.

I'm in it mate to stand a better chance of final tickets because without being in the scheme it's no chance, must admit though I prefer night matches anyway, seems to be a better atmosphere all round .

Yeah, I don't really get the outrage either. It's not like Celtic fans getting tickets prevented City fans from attending. I enjoyed last night - it was a good atmosphere and didn't see any real trouble. But for the Celtic fans the ground would've been half empty and people would be complaining about the attendance instead this morning. They were generally alright, so live and let live I say. It's no different to what we did in the late 90s at some lower league grounds.

Yip - and look out for the same people moaning on here talking about their heroic efforts of getting into the home end in the next away round.

Yes the traffic is a nightmare and the hypocrisy of not selling beer is a pisstake.

We do need to keep growing our support though and Champs League games an ideal opportunity for this. I think some newcomers would have loved the atmosphere in the second half last night. Last night was a bit strange in that although there were plenty of Scots and Irish knocking about, the game didn't seem to appeal to the usual United Nations Champs Leagues following.

Full of Sweaties Tim, worse than Gladbach last season. Some even wearing colours. Stewards were a waste of space as usual.

You are better off relocating for the next round. You get two tickets for the price of one 93:20 and still feel like you are in the home end

Original? Well I've never seen it before. Er,....... not since watching Lincoln v Oldham on telly on Monday come to think of it.

Were there 100s of Oldham fans in the Lincoln end paying tribute to something that had happened to Oldham?

That was what I meant by original. Not the Barry Manilow concert impression.

Morning. Celtic fan here, live in Manchester from Ireland. I managed to get two tickets last night through a friend fro me and my brother. Sadly his frined and wife were unable to make it due to illness. We were in the family end, aisle 135 right near the front. We were saying to each other to be quiet and incognito. Lasted until we scored. We werent over the top just jumped up and fist pumped. We got some ribbing a few minutes later when you equalised but then were able to have a few good discussions with your lot around us. There was quite a few celts around us but didnt notice any trouble. I know there were some commotions quite a few rows behind but dont know what they were over.
couple of points. The "light show2 is a tribute to the Lisbon Lions in the 50th anniversary season. Has been going on all season. Youll notice it was done in the 67th minute and was accompanied by the song "67" Done it last season as well but cant remember what for.
The songs issue. Dont really want to get into that debate but as unpleasant for many as some of our songs are, they arent sectarian. Unless we were belting out romain in the gloamin, which I didnt hear last night and havent doe for many years.
To the lad who said we are just like rangers, youre wrong mate. We are far from it. We may have a few idiots in our support - who doesnt - but we are far from that lot.
Anyway, enjoyed the night, best of luck going forward in the competition

Considering the amount of Celtic fans that were in the ground, I don't think it was as bad as it could have been.

However, the issue remains with the club and the allocation of tickets ; it's happened on numerous occasions now, and nobody seems to learn, listen, or even care.

The club bang on about the 'matchday experience', yet seemingly don't make any improvements/stick their heads in the sand when things don't go to plan.

I arrived at the ground 30 minutes before kick off, yet such were the lengths of the queues, by the time I'd made it to the turnstiles the game had kicked off.

And then for some reason my season card hadn't been activated (on the cup scheme so no idea why) and I missed the first 10 minutes.

Got to my seat and I was sat next to four Celtic fans, who to be fair, weren't too bad, but still...

Saw a number of children in tears due to a little bit of aggro near them, and girls who were in the middle of a melee in east stand corner.

Danny Wilson might be a nice guy, and he's helped me before, but I'd rather he be a dick and sort the shambles out.

I have lost interest in it to be honest. I can't stand the working all day, battle to get there, get home late etc etc...The PSG ticket prices pissed me off last year so that was that. Enjoyed the Barca game though and will no doubt go to the knockout games I fancy. The final is something I know I'll miss if we get there but that's life.
