Celtic game - strict security measures announced (page 34)

Hated everything about last night. Surrounded by Celtic fans singing songs about the IRA and the pope. I wouldn't have had a problem if they just wanted to support their club. Left with 20 mins to go. First time I've ever left early. Even the steward apologised to us on the way out. He said they were told that Celtic fans would be thrown out but it never happened.

It's amazing how many of our supporters appear to have suddenly become devout Protestant loyalist christians overnight. You'd almost think they were lunging for the moral high ground.

We sing one about the pope so not sure what their problem is, remember he told the rags to Fuck Off...........

We were in 309 last night and it was awful. There was about 60 or more of them at the back and a few others in that block who were drunk assholes. The stewards told us they would be moved on but nothing happened. They asked for police presence but none available as they were dealing with trouble all round the ground. There was a bad feeling in the concourse during half time with arguments etc. City fans left due to the bad feeling there. That is not acceptable in our own end. Celtic fans keep say they are best in the land etc but they had a lot of idiots last night. Plus i witnessed them charging threw the barriers for security outside there end and fighting with stewards and police. So much for best fans in world. Just dregs like rangers fans

Kicked off in 105 and people were coming over from 106-107 to have a go. A few Celtic fans left, one got chucked out. Stewards didn't have a clue or didn't care, they were nowhere to be seen.

They were goading City fans when they scored and when our goal was disallowed. What did they expect to happen?

Spoke to the steward in 105. He said there was nothing he could do. The 40 or 50 Celtic fans in there were 'friends of UEFA' and presumably are therefore entitled to behave like arseholes.

"Two Jesus's at City
We've got two Jesus's at City"

That's one that really pisses off those who believe there's only one Jesus.
Brilliant!

Young 20/30s lad with a half and half scarf sat next to me couldn't contain himself when Celtic scored. I had a good laugh with him for the rest of the match. Ex Inverness, he lives in Notlob, which is how he got a ticket. We shook hands at the end like normal human beings, as it should be. On the way out on the spiral, hearing the Celtic fans still singing away, I said in a "posh" voice "excitable lot, these Johnny Foreigners, what?" and these Scots lads I was talking to pissed themselves laughing. It's all banter.

My dad is a steward at City and has been for the past two seasons. Said last night was by far the most problems he's had at the Etihad. Loads of very offensive and rowdy Celtic fans being aggressive and starting on people that he had and others had to chuck out.

And no, my dad's not part of showsec ha. He works for City.

Also, massive shoutout to the Celtic fans on the tram on the way in who decided to start singing Liverpool AND Man United songs. Weird, weird bastards.

I'm sure there's a song that's sung from time to time that mentions the pope!

Use your own jokes!! see 4 posts above.

As an aside, if 2 so called City fans want to walk around the outside of the ground with rangers flags draped round their shoulders they're no better than any idiot from another club and probably deserved a slapping.
