Celtic game - strict security measures announced (page 34)

Absurd. If you don't know it, there's no helping you.

Youre wrong but thats not why I posted. Just wanted to share my experience, as a Celtic fan in the city end, of last night. A night I enjoyed

Yeah, I don't really get the outrage either. It's not like Celtic fans getting tickets prevented City fans from attending. I enjoyed last night - it was a good atmosphere and didn't see any real trouble. But for the Celtic fans the ground would've been half empty and people would be complaining about the attendance instead this morning. They were generally alright, so live and let live I say. It's no different to what we did in the late 90s at some lower league grounds.

Depends on your experience at the game. If you sat around decent Celtic supporters than you wouldn't really be getting the outrage.

Had you sat around Celtic fans who had no respect for the fact they were in a home end, were taking the piss out of you, threatening you with violence and generally ballooning id hazard a guess that your opinion might very well be different this morning.

Fair point. I can only comment on what I saw, which was Celtic fans generally behaving themselves.

Hated everything about last night. Surrounded by Celtic fans singing songs about the IRA and the pope. I wouldn't have had a problem if they just wanted to support their club. Left with 20 mins to go. First time I've ever left early. Even the steward apologised to us on the way out. He said they were told that Celtic fans would be thrown out but it never happened.

Went to the game and relocated to the family stand 2nd tier to be with my sons and grandson. There were 4 celtic fans behind us but didn't realise that until they scored. I overheard one say to the others "we agreed to calm it down so keep quiet"
After that I barely heard them. Had a good chat to them at half time and they were very impressed with the Stadium and facilities and wished City good luck for the rest of the season.

I've no problem with away supporters in our end as long as they show some respect. Turns out that these lads behind us were decent normal fans who just wanted to watch their team sat in seats that some other city fans had sold on

Which of our songs glorify religious sectarianism? Been going over 40 years and struggling to think of one.

I'm guessing most Celtic fans see the Fields of Athenry and the Soldier's Song like folk songs. I couldn't make out some of the Celtic songs so I don't know if they were about religious bigotry or not.

Last night was more about the unwritten rules of going to football. Celebrate a goal in the home end and you might get away with it. Carry on singing and taunting the home fans (whilst in the home end) and you are likely to get a slap.

It's amazing how many of our supporters appear to have suddenly become devout Protestant loyalist christians overnight. You'd almost think they were lunging for the moral high ground.
