Yes well taking us forward I mean being able to qualify for the CL and not get mauled. It won’t be easy but that’s our goals. It might not meet the taking forward City have had since being taken over, but we aren’t in the same position.
To put it into perspective, the worst team in the EP receive about £110m. We won the Treble and for that picked up just under £3m. With an additional £2m from Sky. It shouldn’t take a mind of Einstinian proportions to work out that improving in a European context isn’t easy.
We can do better even with limited funds, no doubt about that. But we have got out of the group stages as 3rd this year edging out Leipzig and should have knocked out Valencia, but, if and buts aren’t good enough. We know that 3rd place in a CL. group is possibly the best we could achieve, but even qualifying will bring us resources to improve. We look at qualifying like you would getting to the semi
We operate in a different planet and have to suck that up. Moving forward for us might not be what your used to, but I’m sure you can remember when City moving forward didn’t actually happen with lightspeed either.
We will hopefully get better. We have money to do that. Fuck all compared to you, about £30m, so you see, in today’s market that would probably get you Aguero’s right eyebrow. It not easy but we will hopefully give it a go.
