Like I said, couple of hundred thousand Scottish / British football fans including many of the dregs of society can't be easy to handle, it's unprecedented. The last thing you want is for them to miss out on the biggest game of their lifetime due to a technical fault.

There's a case that can be made that the venue should change depending on the teams there. As was shown last season with the CL final switch from Istanbul to Porto, it can be done smoothly, and the original venue choice can be compensated later on with getting the final another year. The stadium was smaller in capacity in 2008 then it is today and you knew Rangers were going to bring huge numbers of fans. It was obviously going to overwhelm the city. Not excusing what happened, but the lack of planning and foresight was shocking.

Even if that is the case, and it's debatable (snd may never be known for a fact, one way or another), does that make it okay to pelt the blokes trying to fix it? Or to go on a drunken rampage through a City they had no business being in?Another viewpoint.

My pal and bother in law were there too and didn’t notice anything. They were raging that those arseholes spoiled what was a great day. As for us in Europe, let’s wait and see what Ange can do. Writing is off as evidenced this season is dangerous game.
Jim, I've said many a time I don't condone the trouble, it's obviously put a stain on our name. All I'm saying is that the circumstances that lead to it didnt help, & to bare in mind that when you are taking 200k fans to a City, theres lots of those not normal match going fans, in fact it attracted the dregs of our society.
However, it happened and its embarrassing to be associated with it unfortunately.

But why were that many Rangers fans there? They obviously didn't have tickets (apparently, the fans in the stadium behaved perfectly fine)? Could they not have watched the game back home?

Gunner is right, it was too close, as one of my bluenose pals said, within Giro distance, so every utter bam and his pal could go. We took 60,000 more to Seville that we had tickets for. My brother in law had a ticket, my big mate and his boy didn’t. I would have gone without a ticket too, but then again, I am an officer and a gentleman.
