Celtic Thread - 2021/22

Good result. Fortuitous second goal and quite an open game. Result should be enough to see Celtic through but an early Alkmaar goal would make things interesting.

Watched a bit of the game. They are definitely playing much better, quicker, with more intensity middle to front. They've had a nice wee run of games, most at home since the Tynecastle defeat including another 1 this weekend, so that's helped bed in the new signings.

Next games after is AZ away then vs Rangers at Ibrox, & while that will be a full other test, they will quite rightly go into them with a lot of confidence.

You got Celtic TV. It was the only place broadcasting the game.

Na mate, watched a bit of the first half via 1 of those less than reputable streaming sites. I watch bits on my phone if the wife has soaps or the like on TV & there's other football on. Feed was probably from Celtic TV but didn't have the sound up.

Good display, apart from Arsefelt, who is a better looking Duffy. Happy bow Ange has transformed us from the slow, ponderous, utter shite of last season to fast and great play at speed. We still.need two additional fullbacks, a Centre half and hopefully Lovric a left winger. We are also in for a Greek striker who looks good. The return leg will be difficult as they are a good team, but hooeful we can score over there. Then its on to lir old pals at Ibrox. No time to catch your breath. We have been.yransformed, but until.we get real.defenders instead of pricks like Sterfelt, we are vulnerable at the back.

Another great attacking display and plenty of goals. We signed a Croatian left back yesterday, have another defender in a young Irish guy called Scales who looks a talent too. Things are moving a lot faster, but more importantly, a lot better than even I dared to hope. We still have a left back and Centre back to get and are in talks with a striker. My big mate sent me a text when we appointed Ange. The gift the just keeps giving. Now he, like all his other gets and are worried as fuck. They have started looking utterly and completely shit, look like going out the EL and have to sell players. My wish at the start of the season was that they won it as year when not a single fucker of them saw a single minute. When the fans are back they can settle down to being second best again. We are still vulnerable at the back though, so this will give them hope next week, but so are they shit at the back and we are on fire going forward. I won't make any predictions because these games are different, but lets just say I am going into it with absolutely no fear. That is a massive change, I hope we can blow them away and send them home fucking raging. That would be lovely.

I see the Scottish press are loving our Joe. I'm glad he's had a great start to his career at Celtic and could well be a legend there.

Bad echo in this place. We'll have to lower the ceiling.
Bad broadband Jim. I am actually thinking about using the mice our cats bring in to power a small wheel, connected to the router. Of course I would be paying a living wage as I'm not a ****. I do love living where we do as it is beautiful, peaceful and good for the soul, but by fuck, the broadband is beyond a joke. I will struggle on though, as you know, I seldom get uptight about anything.

Quite a contrast to your post a few weeks ago where you couldn't have been less optimistic IIRC

It is indeed, a good manager, good signings with more to come and the team playing with belief and skill. As I have said, we still need a couple of defenders in sooner rather than later, but I have belief Ange will sort that out too. Last season was the most cowardly effort I have ever endured. Another season like that and I would have needed to walk the earth.

Big week for us both on and off the park. Window edging shut and we are reportedly in for at least three more players. As for on the pitch, a game away in Holland and then over to Ibrox with no fans, which is a farce as Rangers seem to be still holding onto the campaign by their fans fed up seeing us win there who brought about the change to 800 fans and totally fucking ruining the game as a spectacle. I had hoped since they won the league they would abandon this fear and let the supports return, but they want a cast iron guarantee in a pandemic that in January we can reciprocate. I don't think we have a crystal ball to do that and they obviously fear even 800 of us in the ground. Fucking pathetic.

Are you letting any away fans in yet?
