Our running joke is how easily you get ahead of yourselves, only to return to rage when you find out bluster wins fuck all. Again we see the overhype, the hysteria of most of you, over your signings and how you’re going to do this that and the other. It’s been the same every preseason, early season since Warbutton.

I’m happy with the connection to City. Mosst of the players have been excellent. With Frimpong, we should make all in about £15m from him if he goes for £40m. Young Lawell is doing ok since his Da was given ribbon cutting and boring speeches duty. I wouldn’t have the **** on a pie stall. By the time the dithering **** served your pie the game woukd be over,

Im pretty sure you could have said the 2nd paragraph without the shite spouted in the first paragraph that was nothing to do with the post.

My point was exactly what you mention in your second paragraph. You acknowledge that there is some 'connection' to City that your happy with, and why wouldn't you be. So why does the supporters that @Ithryn Luin talk about not even ignore that fact but openly speak up against City?

How the fuck do I know? I don’t know or care. I put a few maybeez but I have no idea.

And the first paragraph was a response to you saying it’s a running joke we are part of the City group, so I am telling you one of ours.

It is about religion up here. We all know it. Even you.

And I will be back on about your over confidence soon. It’s a constant with you I am only reflecting back at you what you project.
First OF game of last season. Five of us watching it in a Rangers pub. Two Roman Catholics from Co. Donegal, former Lourdes Academy pupil and two CoS members both with RC Children

It’s fuck all to do with religion within my circle of friends. There would have been a third RC from Co. Donegal but he’s a sports journalist and was reporting on the game.

Biggest Celtic fan I know is an Ex Scot’s Guard Protestant. Travels everywhere and spends literally thousands each year following your mob.

I was going to post this elsewhere but decided to put it here so it gives our regular Celtic supporting contributors an opportunity to comment...

I am retired and often visit opposition fan forums and I have just finished perusing a couple of Celtic forums and particularly TalkCeltic. I was interested to gauge their thoughts on our treble so I read the last 30 pages on their 2022/23 CL thread which covered the semis and the final.

What I read was a large number comments of hatred of City that makes the same threads on RAWK and Red Cafe seem positively friendly.

I was somewhat taken aback by the barrage of City bingo and anger at our success! "Its all about the oil money" being the one and only reason for the last 12 years trophy haul and of course they would to man all walk away from their club should a middle east rich sugar daddy invest in them. Some even call Pep a fraud and claim the Barca success was all about Frank Rijkaard and he did nothing of note at Bayern.

Many believe that the vast majority of our current match attending support only started after 2008 whilst obviously theirs and the other Red tops, Bayern, Real and Barca have been attending for over 50 years!!!!! Also it seems Celtic and those clubs mentioned only spend money that comes through the turnstiles or merchandising and its "properly EARNED!"

Lots of comments were scoffs at the poor level of support and noise at both the home semi and final from the City sections ironically whilst complaining about the BT coverage who we know always mute the City fan section.

Now I realise their support is largely garnered from the Irish who also love the Red Tops but the vitriol expressed in those pages takes City hating to a new level. I never could have contemplated the amount of sheer bitterness and hatred there was in a fanbase that has had very little exposure to our club and meetings between us number just two games.

Like the red scousers, down the years, pundits and Celtic fans themselves have claimed they are one of the most informed and liberal fair minded football fans in the world. But whilst they hate the English media it seems they swallow any and all anti Man City propaganda from the very same source...hook, line and sinker.

I really was shocked and taken aback reading those pages and my view of their fans has as a result somewhat shifted as a result!
Mentally or physically? :-)

Good post, fella. Sour grapes from so many know nothing "football fans."

The Celtic support have always tended to follow United and Liverpool who both have huge Irish followings

Tbh on my travels most English fans have little time for the Green n Grey and their Faux Irish / Anti British politics. Pretty understandable really

Rangers support is much more diverse in their following of English clubs. Chelsea are probably the most supported at Ibrox with City a close second. Rangers Unionist / Pro British leanings Obviously helps in this
My Ranger supporting mates seem to follow Chelsea and Millwall.
The older ones have followed Millwall the longest.
I have met many a sound Rangers fans supporting Chelsea on the train while going to and from the Etihad from Scotland.
Cannot remember meeting any Celtic fans on my travels.

Wtf?

Hahaha

The tour guide put you off a football club. Are you 12?
It wasn't just him; it was the whole experience. It was arrogant.

Also, if literally going on a tour of a club's stadium and learning about their history isn't a good way to form an opinion, then what is?

I’ve done the tour and it was a fantastic experience. My St Mirren supporting wife loved it as well. Finished off the tour by going to the Argyll Suite for a fabulous meal overlooking Ibrox stadium

If you can’t see the difference in Archibald Leitchs master piece and Brieze Block Boulevard then I can’t help you

If you want to support a team with their history then again I can’t help you.

Wait until later in the year and see if you feel the same way

ETA and how the fuck can an experience be arrogant?

I’m going with your 12

Such a hysterical response. I'm sorry that I upset you...

It's things like describing your own stadium as "Archibald Leitchs masterpiece" that come across as arrogant. Or saying you're the most successful team in football (which isn't even true).

It's similar to rag and dipper fans who are hell-bent on trying to prove why their club is the best in the world. I'm a City fan. I support them because my dad does and his dad did. That's good enough for me, I don't need to convince anyone about anything.

Archibald Leitch described it as his masterpiece

Rangers are in the Guiness book of records as the Worlds Most Successful football club. I believe a Saudi Team may have over took them in the last couple of years and I’m sure they are rightly proud of the accolade.

I support Rangers for the same reason you support City. I follow City’s fortunes as Asa Hartford was my favourite Scottish player when I was a kid and just stuck with them. That and I dislike United and Scousers

You surely didn't think a tour guide calling Archibald Leitchs design as a masterpiece as arrogant.
