Its a tough ask for Celtic and Rangers, when you look at what they're playing against week in week out, and then they have to raise their game to face the likes of B Dortmund, Atalanta, Lyon and Premier League teams in Europe.

The top scorer in the SPL is on loan at Dundee United, unwanted by Wrexham.
Look at the Europa Conference League table also. Hearts couldn't make the top 24 of this competition finishing well behind Shamrock Rovers, and also behind Slovenian and Bosnian sides.

I'd say the standard of other SPL teams bar Celtic/Rangers has declined drastically in the last 10-20 years.

(On the top scorer point, especially Celtic but also Rangers should have a striker each with 20 league goals to their name at least at this stage, given the possession and dominance that they have as well as the financial advantage)

Rangers might have found that striker in Igamane. Took a while to settle but since he's became a more regular starter in December he's got 9 goals in the league and 4 in the Europa.

Villa looked absolutely out on their feet yesterday against the Hammers. Unrecognisable from the team swarming over City a few weeks back.
Don't know if they have anyone to come back.

We have missed about 25 absolute sitters. I mean ones my cat could score. We have a spread of goals, but you’re right, a decent striker shouid bag 25 a season at least.

£50 million and you can have Big Cyriel Dessers

Still to see the best of Danilo. The run of injuries he’s had is frustrating. From what we’ve seen there is certainly a player there

At full strength it was a big ask. No Kyogo, Maeda and Carter Vickers. Thank fuck we are through. We just just take this as a free hit to have a go. If we score, it most certainly won’t he Idah. Looking forward to it, even in the knowledge it could get messy. I hope it’s a right good go for the throats, type of game.

Not a penny more than £45m. Plus add on’s, obviously.
Big night for Idah. A chance to impress now Kyogos away.

Not started well though. Watching City and Brugge look dangerous on the counter

Idah stepped up like I always said he would. Never a doubt, in my mind at least, I would adopt him.

Thought we played really well at times, showed bottle and kept at them until the final whistle. Villa are a class team. Last goal is an example of the best our academy has to offer. Hatate was great. All things considered, from every angle and even some, not yet known to science.

I hear we are playing either Bayern or Real. That’s a tad disappointing, I had hoped we would get a team, where we had a figment of a chance.

But, the joy at making it, outweighs that. We just take them on and see where we are and the direction we need to go.

All exciting stuff.

Congratulations for qualifying, very nice campaign.

Villa just had a lot more pace and power and are used to playing teams like Celtic week in week out. I think the new CL format will benefit Celtic hugely, giving them more games to grow and increase their competitiveness. Hard to really be top tier dominating a weak league.

Has anyone seen @Magicpole?
He was last seen on Sockihull St, half naked drinking Tennants Super singing about Marching on Munich in May.

If found please don't return, his missus is enjoying the peace, quiet and the remote control.

Just got out of jail this morning. What a night though. I was actually in Argile St Musty. Sockihull St? That’s fighting talk where we come from.

I never did find my trousers and boxers. Breezy, I’ll leave it there.

I was pleased with a lot of last night. Three main men down, but, we never collapsed, scored two great goals, Hatate had a great chance too. Another wee step forward. Hopefully get KT and a striker as well as Jota back for knockout. Obviously we are out, but if we give a good account of ourselves, it’s another step and we have a team capable of handling our qualifier for the CL next season. We have the folding stuff, let’s spend it. Villa are a really good team, at 3.2 they were wasting time. I thought McGreggor and Engels didn’t do enough. Yang would have been more effective, sitting beside me and fetching my beer from the fridge. Kasper is fucking brilliant. You need a keeper like that in Europe. All in all I’m happy with the direction we are going.

If I was offered this at the start of it all, I would have ripped your fucking arm off. We were the only team to score at Villa Park in the CL.

That’s because they are vile.
The most disturbing thing abut that video is the police walking alongside them and doing nothing. If walking through Birmingham singing an IRA song is not a hate crime then I don't know what is. They are truly despicable. As someone of genuine Irish heritage these "plastic Paddies" make me feel ashamed. And this is precisely the reason why Celtic (and their sectarian blood brothers Rangers) will never be allowed to play football in the PL. I realise this is a minority of the mostly-decent Celtic support but they should kick these scum out of their club.

The vast majority of people in Ireland would be embarrassed by this behaviour as well.

There's an obsession with IRA/UVF/UDA/the Troubles among a lot of scottish people who follow Celtic and Rangers.
Far more so than in Belfast I'd say. An immaturity to it all.
Some are actually that dumb they think its merely a bit of craic, and don't see it as offensive or even serious.
