The vast majority of people in Ireland would be embarrassed by this behaviour as well.

There's an obsession with IRA/UVF/UDA/the Troubles among a lot of scottish people who follow Celtic and Rangers.
Far more so than in Belfast I'd say. An immaturity to it all.
Some are actually that dumb they think its merely a bit of craic, and don't see it as offensive or even serious.
Having visited northern island many times id say its a very tiny percentage there too.

Not sure most give a shit and certainly didnt show it to me, an Englishman. Extremely welcoming nation

Now I’m not going to get drawn into a debate on this but as someone who spent a lot of time in Belfast during / after The Troubles I’d say that is not exactly true.

My ex is from Andersonstown and we felt the full wrath from both sides of the divide. I can vouch for it that it’s not a bit of craic

Did a job recently and the woman was from londonderry. Catholic in her 30s, lovely woman. She met her english husband over here and stayed and settled here and had kids.

She said it caused problems telling her family she was marrying an englishman.

mind boggling mentality

My ex father in law didn’t speak to me , other than the odd drunken death threats , for 14 years. Hahaha

He only met me the day of my daughter’s Christening!

It goes both ways. I was dragged out a car and beaten by so called Loyalists breaking my jaw and arm. It’s Ok though because I later got an
apology … bigoted bastards!!

Maybe you can understand my views on these bigoted low life’s. Life is too short to hate but I would think I came pretty close to hating the bigots on both sides but I try not to spend too much time in their company

I'm talking about today, in 2024. Scottish people who weren't even born when the Troubles ended are still singing about it and going round English citys shouting about it.
30 Years after the ceasefire's were called.

Put it this way. The mainly catholic/republican club in NI Cliftonville met the mainly protestant/loyalist team in the Irish Cup Final last May.
Not in a million years would what we saw in Birmingham yesterday have happened before that game.
People on all sides would have cringed at it and told them to wise up.

Celtic fans walking through a City singing IRA songs where dozens of innocent people, thats INNOCENT, died and hundreds were injured in IRA bombs is a pretty vile thing to do.
Celtic fans won't believe they were 'innocent'. They're on a par with Liverpool fans for political bollocks.

All the Provo Uda UVF shite does my head in too. It’s embarrassing and I have long called it out as pathetic and does nothing to get behind the team.

You see it first hand any Remembrance Sunday , the whistling jeering from them , I’ve seen loads say yes but it’s a small minority NO it isn’t , crazy part is them jeering their grandparents would be ashamed of them …

Celtic fans are like liverpool fans, like to see themselves as edgy, different, out there, but reality is they just come across as cunts

I don’t seem to remember the jeering etc in the 80s or early 90s , that Green Brigade with their faux concern for Palestine , morons , you have to feel sorry for some of the Celtic support though that don’t tow the line them cretins in the GB spout, I remember Celtic fans being badly beaten at Birmingham City and the police saying how some were begging to be protected ….

I've got to be honest as an Irish descent, Mixed Race Brummie I found a lot embarrassing Wednesday night from all sides. I saw lots of UVF flags, Paratrooper flags that were just there to cause shit, but tons of IRA bollocks in return.

I also have mixed feelings about some of our fans behaviour to Celtic fans in the home end. I don't like away fans being in the home end but ultimately our club sells tons of hospitality to the highest bidder. People's heads were getting stamped on, some were sniffed out and minding their business and still getting started on. It was all a bit over the top, I got the impression Celtic fans are just used to sitting in home ends and usually in Europe it's fine to an extent, but for all British affairs it just doesn't seem to go down well.

Whats your opinion of the “GB” singing IRA songs in birmingham?

The green brigade are a major stain on your support. You get that dont you.

Still singing “lizzies in a box” , beyond cringe
It’s not just the Grease Brigade and the other ultra group who sing pro IRA pish. I’ve seen an end holding 4k of them all ( I presume some don’t though) bouncing around singing about the IRA. Standard old firm defence is “its a minority” it’s not.

Away crowds yes. . Watch our next CL game. The GB will sing their songs, look to see who joins in.
