The standard of the other sides in Scotland make it easy for Rangers and Celtic to dominate but it doesn't help them become better.
There are at least 4 or 5 teams in the SPL that aren't even championship standard and that causes the old firm clubs problems when they then play against decent opposition.

always despised celtic, great to see them spend lots of money (for them) get what looks like good players and get shat on by a fairly poor side. Hope Rangers win the league with all their troubles, be good to mphela with them, think he looked a good striker. Also be brilliant to see dundee utd get 2nd. Scottish footbaqll is absolutegarbage anyway these days, long gone are the days of Laudrup,Larsson, Gazza and Van Bronkhorst and panic buys like flo are long gone

I'm not laughing yet, I remember Strachan's first European game in charge, they got humped by Artmedia Bratislava & then went on to walk the league.
As for the age old question of how the Old Firm would do in the Prem, they would be top 6-8 at least every year in my opinion. Purely because the investment they would get would be enormous & you would be lucky if 3 players from each team who start the SPL season for Rangers & Celtic would actually be in the squad for them if they were in the EPL.
