Hard to see past this logic.

Any other team is surely going to be more willing to sell knowing they have a full month to get the replacements they need. The longer into the window it goes, the more difficult it becomes. Had we been seriously wanting to bring someone in this January, surely it would be done by now.

Still, WTF do I know, so let's wait and see.

not true, many deals go late because the other club won't sell till they have the replacement signed and sealed, so that the cost of them finding a replacement doesn't go up. Look at Spurs/Bale over the summer, and Fellaini/McCarthy/Powell to United/Everton/Wigan respectively.
