Centre back options

if the rags get Van Dijk, he will improve them massively.
he's better than our current CB.
i see him as a young Kompany. similar traits and frame.
 
We need a CB who will organize the players around him. Stones is young and needs that experienced head around him, remarkably so does ottamendi who despite his age runs around like a bearded Paul dickov chasing the ball wherever it is.
I hoped kompany would be that player but sadly he can't be counted on.

Thought he was awful at Cetic but alongside Boyata who wouldnt be.
He will never be anywhere near VK in my opinion.
 
Daily Star Sunday reporting we are interested at around £30m. We should be. The most obvious like for like replacement we would find, and already proven premier league quality. Should compliment Stones perfectly hope it happens.
 
van Dijk would be pretty much perfect, unless the price is astronomical (which I doubt).
 
Listening to Peps comments yesterday, about needing to get used to teams launching high balls into our box. I wonder if he has modified his views on the type of centre back we need. He will still want some playing out ability, but maybe he realises we will also need somebody to help defend these long ball onslaughts at the end of games.
Noticed an increase in short corners as well as we only have Otamendi and Stones to aim at neither of which are scorers.
