Btw way until the defending of the whole team improves a lot defenders will be under lot of risk because of Pellegrini tactics. You can improve that with getting in Thiago Silva of course but still it will be far from optimal. And Kompany is injury prone on his own.

Yet we're still second, only 7 more conceded than the best defensive record, only 1 defeat at home all season and we're still favourites for the league. Add to that there's nothing we can do about it right now.....

Spot on. I think a lot of us don't realise just how good we are at times including myself. I find myself underestimating City all the time. But then again we have been that superb going forward any weakness is highlighted even more at the back etc

These are great times - lets enjoy them - there will be further disappointments but more trophies - it is not just about this season but seasons to come. Just a bit impatient to get that League Cup and that will not be easy as Sunderland will be up for it. If we win that I may eventually come to terms with the FA Cup Final defeat last season as I have never really got over that.

I only got over 1981 when we won it in 2011 (30 bloody years!)
 
I still remember the disappointment of 1981 very clearly. Doubt I'll ever forget that or last yr for that matter.
Quite agree Sunderland will be a tough nut but hopefully last year's experience will stand us in good sted.
 
Lescott to partner Vinnie. Nastasic one for the future maybe. But he has now got a habit of pulling shirts. He seems to be panicking unlike before when he looked so calm for a young one. Demichelis where ever he is played is to slow. Other players are being dragged out of position to help him out. Last night even if he was not 100% fit Jimmy Milner should have started. He runs at players, tackles & is all over the pitch. Dzeko get more chances in front of goal than any other player. Yet his shooting is awful. On the bench for emergency cover for him. We gave it away last night, it looked like 11 strangers for City.
 
Got to agree with you Gerry Gow Jock Strap . The best centre back partnership is Kompany and Lescott . Still think we have decent player in Natasic but needs a bit more time to bed in .

This for me too, no nonsense defending from lescott admittedly he ain't to good at carrying the ball out of defense but is a threat from corners in their 6 yard box more so than the other 2...
 
Definitely need to bring someone top in to form a partnership with Kompany. To be successful I think you need a good partnership who know each other inside out. MDM is not the answer not only because of his age.

Forward threat is a good bonus as you point out.
Lescott has always chipped in with more than his fair share in his career.
I would like to see him given the nod too.
 
Lescott for me too although I panic every time he gets the ball but for height and defending corners etc the best we have to play with Vinnie.

I would go with him for the rest of the season.
