Cesc Fabregas signs for Chelsea (page 190)

Re: Cesc Fabregas

Shame we aren't interested in signing Fabregas but there are other areas that need strengthening first.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

Im pretty sure most fans would rather have Cesc in the squad then Benatia or Mangala! We have Rekik back to replace Lescott, so we arnt in dire need for a CB. Nastasic was one of the best young CB's around 12 months ago and I think with a decent pre season and an injury free run he will be again. MDM finished the season very strong and looked very solid with Kompany. Cesc for 30 odd mil is a bargain compared to the money quoted for Mangala or Benatia would rather pick up a reasonably priced CB such as Garay or Sokratis.

You'd really rather have Lopes in the side than Fabregas? Each to their own. I'd like to see as many of the world's best players in the team as possible. Fabregas is absolute quality and we'd be missing a huge opportunity to seriously strengthen the team and stop rivals like the red shit getting him. Surely you'd rather face Chelsea away for example with Fabregas in the side than some EDS lad? I certainly would.
If that was directed at me then please reread what I said. I said that fabregas coming with Milner leaving would actually help Marcos lopes come through?

If he comes and Milner goes as someone on here said that's a big vote of confidence to Marcos lopes. Rodwell and Garcia will leave if him and Fernando join so that will be:
Cm-toure,fabregas,Fernando,fernandinho
Wingers/attacking mids- silva, Nasri,navas,lopes

That is an amazing midfield and is also promoting youth so would be a great move. Surprised that sky sources said were not in for him today but hopefully it isn't true.

I've had PM's and DM's telling me

1. He has agreed to come but no deal with Barca, yet.

2. Barca have agreed a fee but no personal talks done yet.

3. Fee and personal terms all agreed just waiting for post WC announcement.

4. Its all paper talk and City aren't remotely interested.

And this is just one player and its only the 2nd of June.

Its gonna be fun, fun, fun.
Why do you get all the PMs and DMs? Is that an added benefit of Superbia Membership?

I've just PM'd him to ask what the fuck a DM is.

I've DM'd you back

Have to agree with your thoughts re what the £30m fee would get us. Fabregas is easily the best value for money of the 3.

If Demichelis gets injured I am not hopeful of relying on Nastasic or Rekik in the Champions League or Premier League title defining matches, both are not experienced or good enough yet for that level yet.

Nastasic in particular looks good against teams we should be beating but against the best he has looked a small fish in a big pond at times.

Benatia is a must mate in my opinion.

I want Fabregas as much as most on here and had we not had FFP sanctions I reckon he would have been signed up by now, but unless we find funds from elsewhere the signing is a no go.

Garay is off to Bayern anyway.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

My understanding is it is 30m for Arsenal to buy him back but up to the club to decide the value of him over that. If Barca are keeping it at 30m all well and good but the figures I saw quoted are closer to 35m so that they can go and get Koke.

If we sell Richards, Sinclair, Guidetti, Garcia and Milner then we can afford even under FFP fabregas and top class centre back.
