I don't see any reason why any premier league team is going to take a teenage CB and play him unless he is their own academy player. He is still very young, he got used to 'proper' football in the championship and now he can take a step up again. Anderlecht are in the Europa of some sorts I think so that will be another challenge for him and who better to mold a CB than Kompany himself.
 
Good move for him that. A year over there under Kompany, force his way into regular mens football as well as growing up mentally being away from home then perhaps a year in a better league ideally the prem after that before coming back to City ready to play seems like a good progression plan.

It looks way too cheap now.....but that fee was set while he was still something of an unknown quantity,i suspect Leeds inserted it as deciding factor in the loan.

When all is said and done,including his loan fees,its still excellent business for a player we never intended on keeping.
 
We cannot keep everyone at the club. and it is clear this is a business strategy we have with many of the youngsters, and amazing how the 8 - 15 million deals add up, to give us a decent budget for our incomings.

Foden is world class,and his path hasn't been an easy one.Using him as a barometer,the signs aren't great for the prospects of most.

This is purely business.Produce players we can sell on if they dont make it at City.So far we have raked in millions and not one has come back to haunt us as in making it big elsewhere.This will eventually happen we will let some one go for 5-10 million and they will go on to be a superstar.I know people are going to throw Sancho at me but he plays in a league that is no better than Championship if you discount Bayern,Dortmund and Liepzig.I have not been overly impressed whenever i have seen him.If he does turn out to be a world beater then so be it 1 out of over 100 sold is not a bad mistake rate.If the kids are good enough they will make it here ala Foden,Personally i think of the current crop only Palmer has a chance and the rest should bring in between 70 to a hundred million it soon adds up.Its once in a life time that Citys youth side all come through at once or the crass of 92.There are over 100 academy players playing in Leagues around europe i am sure that some one can find out how much we have sold them for.
 
There is no greater joy as a fan than seeing one of your own make it. Those that don't are still good players and if we can keep generating 10-15m per player in sales, the Academy is self funding. If we produce a gem for the first team, then it is a wonderful thing.

At least we are getting fees through the doors. The rags and dippers will love to tell you that grujic, Wilson, Gomes or whatever else are worth 15-20m yet they are still at the club and no one wants them. Money in our pocket allows us to buy Grealish for a net cost of 0. That is good business.

Anyone who does use Sancho is an idiot that should be ignored anyway. He decided to leave despite an offer on the table that would have made him the best paid teenager at the club. Good luck to the lad and all that but we didn't get rid of him.
