Challenge on Xabi Alonso

Poor Alonso, he seems to always be at the receiving end of some shocking tackles.

Since going to Madrid him and Arbeloa have been no better. A right pair of dirty bastards they´ve become, so frankly they are the last people who should complain. I watch La Liga regularly and Alonso gets away with shockers game after game. He was nothing like that at Red Dippers - ditto Arbeloa - down to Mourinho´s influence end of

Shame it didn't happen to Busquets, I'd love nothing more than somebody snapping that cunts leg into two pieces. It was a disgusting challenge with the sole intent of injuring Alonso, he made zero attempt to play the ball. ITVs footage showed it much better.

-- Sat Oct 08, 2011 10:46 am --

Not all of it is Mourinhos influence. Would you put Pepe down as gone like he is under Mourinhos influence?

Skip to about 5 minutes in to see the tackle. Not as bad as its being made out imo, poor tackle and a definite red card though hardly career-threatening.

Im with you mate. Bad tackle. Didnt look malicious, just over zelous. Ive seen far worse get away with yellow.

haven't changed my opinion having seen it several more, in fact ive reinforced seeing as Hubschmann never even looks at Alonso, he just carried away like we all have and made a bad tackle.

I mean fuck's sake Rooney walloped the Montenegrin in the back of the leg with a pre-meditated assault last night, Hubschmann makes a rash tackle whilst I believe genuinely trying to win the ball and ends up hurting the most "hurt" player in footballing history Xabi Alonso(the protected species), I'd say for everything it stood for Rooney's was worse even though TH's caused more damage.

I mean De Jong stamped Xabi in the chest for crying out loud and this guy goes in over the ball with 1 foot, definately not the worst i've seen.

Pepe should be put down, hes an animal

Malouda broke a bone in leg of one of Bosnian players and he wasn't even booked for it. What's most strange, Mujdza (Bosnian guy) continued to play some 10 minutes after the tackle. Now he is scheduled for surgery on Friday and set to be out of the pitch for next 3 months... poor guy, he was at his career best last few months, after Paris performance and some good 2 in play off he would certainly got a contract in some better team than Freiburg.
