Sorry - mis read your post. But don't you think the atmosphere is improving every year?

I wouldn't say that tbh and I think it will only get worse with the johnny come latelys! Thats why I give up the good view to sit behind the goal where it's only generally half decent and not amazing like it used to be!

You do get the odd game that's good but more often than not its shocking!

Always makes me smile when people say it used to be amazing as if it was every game. Even back in the halcyon days of the standing Kippax I can remember games where the atmosphere was flat. Granted when it was good it was quality but when it's good at our new stadium it's still quality.

I agree with this, after the Kippax became all seater the atmosphere at Maine Road was shite for the most part. I hate to say it but until they bring back standing, there will never be great atmosphere's at football games on a regular basis in this country.

Last season was probably the best atmosphere we've had at home since the Kippax turned in to an all seater. It was still not that great though, and only a fraction of what the atmosphere used to be like when the Kippax was standing only.

Who do you suggest that has a better atmosphere then?

sunderland, west brom, newcastle
Don't see how anyone can complain about the atmosphere last season.

Some great memories coming out of the ground after one win after another. Almost every home game I'd invented some reason in my head why we might not win, but win we did.

Only thing that spoilt it a bit was the nerves. For example in the biggest game of them all with 20 mins to go it was deadly quiet. And in some games we were so dominant that the game was over by half time

I think next season some of the nerves and pressure will go and there will be more belief amongst fans and players.

I agree totally - and I think that to describe the atmosphere as being 'more often that not shocking' suggests a spy in the camp

For a top English club, our atmosphere is pretty good - much better than United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool's these days. Spurs have a good atmosphere. Ours CAN improve but I would say last season was not bad for atmosphere especially as we cruised to so many wins. United (x2), Chelsea, Spurs, Sporting, West Brom stick out as some games that had a very good atmosphere. I hope the momentum from the QPR finale can carry on to next season, "CHAMPIONEES" at every game until/if we lose our league crown please. ;)

Not bothering to comment on who's the best/worst at home/away interms of atmosphere as we're all biased.

Next season I personally think there will be more expectation, leading to impatience/disgruntlement and thus the atmosphere will suffer because of it.

I'll always sing, win lose or draw.. isn't the reason I create atmosphere.

Last season wasn't to bad, its been a lot worse since we moved. Also seems as though more of the ground are getting involved aswell were as it used to be just the south and the corner of the east........

Went Liverpool for the cup game & thought they were as loud if not louder than most of our games, but cant realy judge of one game i suppose.

I watched them quite a lot last season mostly for the laughs they provided and Anfield has never been quieter, it was like Old Trafford in many games... eerily silent. Granted the football was awful but it was shocking as Anfield used to be quite cauldron.
