Granted, tactics and motivation play a huge part in winning the Champions League, but for me the bottom line comes down to who has the best and most world class players who can come up with that match winning brilliance.

I think City has one clear world class match winner in Aguero, Chelsea in Hazard and maybe Arsenal with Sanchez, but the likes of Barca, Bayern and Real Madrid, those clubs have at least two or three who they can rely on to come up with the goods when needed.

Until the English sides can match the triopoly of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in matching them with two or three clear outstanding world class players then we will just never progress further and dominate like we all want to.

Not just Tyler. The Austrian commentator couldn't mention Utd enough times last night. I counted 8 times, and I didn't even watch the whole game.

After watching the game between Barcelona and PSG and listening to the leathering Porto received off Bayern it made me realise we are not THAT far off considering PSG didn't stand a chance and Porto just made up the numbers at the end of the day.
We were closer to Barcelona than PSG were we just need more confidence and a bit of luck to get where we will eventually get.

Atleti wanted to park it again and get a late goal.

They played for a draw most of the game and got what they deserved. Real matched them defensively and putting Ramos in the MF role was smart thinking by Ancellotti.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but isn't it an absolutely amazing coincidence that all three of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern played the second leg of their quarter-final tie at home, even though the draw is open?
