Champions League (2/3 October)

Cluj don't look too bad a side but hard to see the rags falling into the same trap as last year. They will reach the knockouts but it's hard to see them with that midfield beating any very good+ European side. Entirely possible they could get Dortmund (if they go through ahead of us) or Juventus in the next round.

I think today is the first time in quite awhile that Ferguson is not underestimating the opposition but has left out three first team midfielders because they no longer have the legs to play more than once every 7-10 days. Their midfield is thread-thin at the moment and Cluj could exploit it very easily. Not to mention their centre back frailties.

The only thing that could save them is Van Persie, Rooney, and Valencia having a good match.

I think it may end in a draw.

Seriously, why the fuck couldn't we get Cluj instead? I know having a group of champions is exciting, but swap out Dortmund and we'de have a much better chance of getting to the knockouts, earning more money and improving our coefficient.

Apparently Samaras knows his first touch is awful now. ;-)

Samaras gets a pseudo-assist by not touching the ball.

Celtic's first time in champions league, right?

Nope, first time since 2004-05 season.

That's a surprise but how does champions league qualification works for scotland? Only the winner goes?

Celtic are already ahead of everyone financially and with the champions league revenue they will be untouchable in the near future
