Same experience with me as well.Did you notice?
Every car had dents, marks, scuff, etc.
Seriously, as you probably know, it was a free for all on the roads. Forget car insurance and a no claims discount.
The taxi driver was constantly on his mobile or talking to the base via a hand held device whilst driving.
It was f*cking crazy. :-)
My Mrs was glued to the back seat of the taxi, white as anything when we got to the hotel, and said that was the worst taxi/car ride ever. I just laughed.
I wouldn't know :/You have to see it but it is piddling in size.
In the days before the animosity started towards the scousers one of their fans did a superb article in King of the Kippax Nov 2011 edition. It was about their trip to Naples and warning us of the dangers we faced going there. I kept it as the fanzine covered the sick Swan, even though its by a scouser its a brilliant read.Rangers at Napoli will be fun. Anyone who went to Napoli away will have been involved in the military style operation to get City fans to and from the ground. The fleet of buses went around the outskirts of the city. 45 minutes each way. Walked off and on the buses inside the stadium compound protected by Police officers with shields. Kept behind after the game for well over an hour.
Went with the Mrs. Napoli Ultras were coming in and out of a British bar where we were drinking looking for City fans a couple of days before the match. About 40 of them stood outside. Thankfully there were no City fans inside the pub or around the area at the time. The Ultras looked at me and the Mrs a few times. Thankfully I can speak Hungarian, so I would have thrown them.
On the day of the match City fans were told to gather near to the bus station. Napoli Ultras were riding past on mopeds throughout the day. Thankfully there were loads of Police parked up near by, so nothing happened. TBH, City had a good set of lads over there, so if it would have kicked off, City would have been up for it.
The taxi ride from the airport to the hotel was an absolute blast. Weaving in and out of traffic. Nearly bumping into other cars. Cutting other cars up. Jumping red lights. Etc.The Mrs was shitting it. I gave the taxi driver a good tip. Loved it.
I’d definitely go back to Naples again. A very interesting City. Loads to see and do. A bit edgy and rundown, especially in the rougher areas on the edges of the city centre, but a great trip as long as you keep your wits about you. Whatever you do, don’t try and make your own way to the ground. It’s rough as f*ck around the ground, and not somewhere you’d want to end up or get lost after the match.
So if we were staying nearby would me and the missus be able to get on or are usually full, went with you from Benidorm to Villa Real many years agoMy province is Almeria. I only organise coaches for us blues on the Iberian peninsula. Sorry.
Second hardest group based on co-efficients only Group C is harder.Looks like a good group for us, sevilla, dortmund, copenhagen? We'll seal the deal and be back in time for corn flakes
I've seen Saturday at 12 mentioned a couple of times. Obviously the exact time I set off to the Etihad! When will the dates for the games be released?
