Never mind all that, can we discuss your wife’s soft spot for blues

And is the stadium pronounced Wank Dorf or Wankd Orf ?
Nothing much to discuss (I suppose my mediocre English led to some odd phrases) :-)
But I can tell you the story of how she became interested in City: As an avid groundhopper (I was doing the 92 grounds of the Football League at the time), I took her to Manchester for the first time in 2010 after attending the clasico Macclesfield Town-Stockport County. She discovered a T-shirt (she's still looking for one as she never got one) on which City's stadium (I can't remember if it was Maine Road or the City of Manchester Stadium) was shown on a map and the Old Trafford far away on the outskirts. So I told her the story of good and evil, including some anecdotes about going to a game against Grimbsy at Maine Road in 1999, just before the supposed end of the world, and some other games I'd seen (West Brom away on Boxing Day that same year and then some home games during a "language" stay in 2007, when Manchester was my home base for groundhopping). Combined with her interest in Oasis, she got hooked and we went to the Real Madrid game in 2012 and have been to Manchester a couple of times a year ever since.

As for the spelling of Wankdorf, we spell it in one word, without any pauses. The A is pronounced like the U in "Funk", not like the familiar word. We get a lot of these jokes from the British and of course in combination with our club name I cannot blame anyone. Where we draw the line is when people start making pedo jokes, like the Pope or Michael Jackson supporting Young Boys, or when it gets homophobic, as I've experienced first hand from some pricks at Old Trafford (so stupid that there are hospitality lounges just above the away section).

Also, in response to another post about singing "Come on Young Boys" - this is actually one of our English chants, but we sing much less in English these days. It was popular in the 90s and 00s, but now the Ultra culture dominates and so we sing most songs in Swiss German. I prefer "I'm Young Boy till I die" because it has a nice poetic double meaning ;-)

How many tickets do they usually give to the away fans please ?

I would say 1800 but I am not 100% sure as we made some adjustments in the visiting section (removed half ot the seats in the upper section B13 + B15 for proper standing area but they just came back for the international matches). The mentioned uppper area is bigger than the stand (B12 + B14) below and has the better view. You can switch between stands easy but I reckon most fans will take their designated seats so if you can choose take the seats in B13/B15.

Did you all notice the Rag representatives at the draw all wearing blazers with the Manchester crest of arms.

They are a complete bunch of ignorant tossers. Do they not realise they are based in Trafford which has its own distinctive coat of arms.

It is particular bug bear of mine that they continue to do this.
Oh bless em, Usurper united lol.

Mine too.
They've been doing it for years, Trafford Council who provide all of their services must be fuming.
Having said that Trafford Council may be relieved that the pathetic shitstain of a club is distancing themselves from their Metropolitan Borough.

Will miss the last 2 group games so will probably do the first 2 aways
Hopefully Bern is one of them.
Loved leipzig last year .. Great place
Belgrade is a place on my wish list but expensive to get to

Wearing a crown does not make you a king, it may make you a pretender or a head case.

If you add up the co-efficients of each group we are actually in the hardest group. The Rags are in the 2nd hardest group, Newcastle the 4th and Arsenal the 7th.

The easest group based on co-efficients is group E - Feyenoord, A. Madrid, Lazio and Celtic.

If you remove the co-efficient of the top seed in each group they are actually all fairly even.
