Champions League: BT extends TV rights until 2021 in deal worth £1.2bn

Apparently BT are using it purely as a means of boosting broadband sales. Can't last indefinitely but they obviously think its still worth it.

Its a real shame that City v Monaco was only watched by a tiny audience. If it had been on ITV, even with Keane, it would have had a major impact on our profile.

correct,,,it needs to go back on the beeb or itv. the last i heard was uefa were complaining the viewing fig were down and they wanted it back on free to air so this has come as a shock

Too many City fans binned them last season when they were being complete twats. I'm disappointed with this but won't go back to them. However, if they did something similar to Sky with Now TV (Pay per day) I'd do it just to watch the action alone.

UEFA obviously dont care that viewing figures for their premier competition have dropped since free-to-air coverage ended in the UK.

BT can stick it, I won't be buying.

In the europa league aren't 6pm kick offs usually games outside of england. When an english team is at home i seem to recall most/if not all are 8.05 ko. I quite like the idea of 6pm kick offs if we're away from home.
