Champions League Final | Free LIVE on YouTube

That’s because it’s frame rate
Films are 24 or 25 frames per second. It’s what gives them that jerky look which some people cancel our by having their TVs set to auto smoothing or something like they which then makes the shows look like 1980s American soap operas.

The best option for most of you don’t want to play around with your tv is to set your tv to ‘sports’ mode and it will jiggle the settings for you.
Yeah, funnily enough I used to do video work so know about frame rates (and specifically the 24/25 film look - I used to shoot stuff on HDV cameras).

Not sure if it still does this but the iPlayer showed football (match of the day etc) with that '80's US soap opera' look.
Weird to watch sport that way (the 'Then' and 'Now' vibe).

Was very impressed with the Youtube/BT App on my TV last night. Fingers crossed it looks the same on Saturday evening.

Cheers.

That doesn’t make sense. 60ffs is smoother than 50fps

Chances are it will be encoded in the fly and shown on YT at 50fps max.

60 is smoother than 50 but since the match is natively filmed at 50fps then producing a 60fps stream its either converted from 50 or nothing (?) and there's a little judder every second. That judder may be more noticeable to some than others or when the camera is panning (hoof or quick counter) compared to static.

No sport is "live" on TV.
Despite what Martin Tyler often says...and it's liiiive! I just don't want to be hearing cheers 10 seconds earlier from neighbours down the road! :)

How do you view on Sky? Without BT package

if you have Sky Q, just go to the Youtube App......not sure about the other Sky platforms
Ive got BT but meant to be watching with dad who has Sky+ without BT Soports. It does have YouTube app But he’s having internet problems now :< so may go home to watch after exploring all options

Unless, does anyone know if you can put mobile hotspot onto Amazon fire stick?
