Champions League Final | Post-Match Thread

Play every game of the season with a holding midfielder so we play our biggest game of the season without one , Pep couldnt even admit he had fucked at half time when we should have been 0-4 down ,and put either Dinho or Rodri on
Great manager but a stubborn guy who cant admit when its going tits up , not one single player played to their potential on the night , Chelsea did a number on us and fully deserved it absolutely no excuses we were toothless with Bernardo an Gundo having to play 30 yards deeper ,a f*cking shambles.

We had a great CL (pretty much wiped out Dortmund and PSG, and most seem to think we had a tough draw) so this hurts more because I'm disappointed we didn't finish our fine campaign with the win our overall CL performance deserved.

But I've said this before -- we WILL be back in a final. I believe it. I more than believe it -- I KNOW it. And with most of this side, and this manager. So, no, I wouldn't be happy. I want to win this. We've made PROGRESS this season -- BIG progress -- not gone backwards. Fuck, we were two wins from a quadruple (!!), and if he stays healthy I truly believe Foden could be one of the world's best players. And he's 21.

Many of our side are young, young and hungry. This will drive them, not disappoint them. This will make them better.

This isn't our apex.
That is the one good thing. If we'd have won, we'd have done a Liverpool.

Would of Fernandinho stopped Chelsea’s goal? The answer is no. Him starting tonight wasn’t the reason the lost. Bore off with that shite
Sorry there is more to it than that, the defence had no simple out ball which meant they got caught a few times early on and made the edgy. No holding player meant the defenders had to look for a midfielder, something they don’t normally need to do. Defence looked on edge all night. How we have gone 3 years without a descent left back is beyond me as well

Although I don’t agree with Pep’s selection I think the players he selected played poorly- De.Bruyne, Mahrez, Sterling, Stones, Silva - none of them turned up tonight. I think the performance of the players actually made Pep’s selection look even worse. In the first half I can’t think of one player who played to his normal standard

That was partly down to them not being comfortable with the setup. We'll never know for sure, but it's hard not to think it cost us in a big way.

That is still a penalty though. It doesnt matter if it hits his body first, if the arm makes the body bigger it is a penalty.

Chelsea deserves it on the night, unfortunately.
Oh shit, i'm not getting into a referring argument so if that's still a pen then whatever, but for me, as a football fan, if that's my team and thats a penalty i lose my fucking mind.
