When a team's whole philosophy is defensive in nature you either play like them or attack without losing the ball in positions that can hurt you. Got to be cuter than them.
Playing like them means not such a high line. Cede possession so they actually have to go on the front foot and create opportunities to score against lines of 5 and 3/4 . Train/ prepare for a counter attacking game. Maybe that's too much to expect ?
Possession type games are hard to execute but Pep has shown that his teams can attack and not lose too many balls whilst in possession. But hast night we got caught and possession was overturned so many times that it was inevitable they'd score first. Playing against them next season will be a test of how much we have learned .

Didn't want to post anything last night to avoid any knee jerk reactions. That said my view hasn't really changed. Disappointed is an understatement. 90 minutes of football where we created so little and not one player can really say they gave their all. All over the pitch we were poor tactically Pep got it wrong, for most the team picked itself. The only issue was would he play Rodri or Fern, as it turned out he played neither and went with a clearly unfit Gundogan and an out of form Sterling. Decisions that baffled most fans and led to a game that from minute one we had no control of and never got into.
Pep has been fantastic for us but last night he got it badly wrong and we stunk the place out for 90 minutes.
Hopefully we learn from it and get the chance to do it again and perform next time.
Congratulations to Chelsea I still maintain we are on our day a far better side but that's three games now where the real City hasn't turned up.

Theyll have to actually exit their totally defensive tactic if that's the case as theyll need to set up positively and go on the front foot possession wise , create chances with the risk of losing the ball and be vulnerable to counter . Lets see if they can do that. Except against us. Mixing both tactics involves more risk ,something they'll not be used to. I'm not convinced theyll be able to ride two horses. But wait and see.
 
I would like to hear from those who were okay when we threw away FA CUp and league Cup to them and said PEP IS HIDING HIS TACTICS FOR FINAL.
Turns it this the biggest embarrassment amoni all the three. In FA Cup they were not even that good and we didn't play our best 11.

In League game, we did play a slightly better side than FA Cup and could have done more and scorer 2 goals on a bad day. This however was altogether different level of fuck up where we didn't even create a single clutch chance.
