Can we stop pretending that Fernandinho isn't a 36 year old who has had some top games this season, but also some shockers? And that the worst shocker didn't come against this opponent in the semi final?

We lost this game because we conceded a shit goal and created fuck all. Shit happens.

100% If people wanna see Fernandinho at his best go and watch the Everton game again. We scored a few goals just from him winning it in midfield. World class gets thrown around too much in football. Fernandinho is world class.

Not according to Guardiola but he does think Sterling is and that he’s good enough to be captain. That’s pretty alarming TBH.

The only problem solved from that Lyon match is Dias in CB. Even if we win the league all other weaknesses are still there: Strikers who can't score goals, wingers who can't go pass players, DM who is too static, not to mention no proper LB. I'm grateful we performed to the level we did, all thanks to our beautiful passing games, but ultimately weaknesses are going to get exposed, at the highest level we can't expect to pass opponents to death everytime. In matches against PSG or Dortmund, there were also sustained period where we got exposed and conceded goals logically. Ultimately against chelsea who have much better defenders than PSG or Dortmund, we just couldn't find a way back.
I think, in the cups, Pep's way of fotball is always going to cost more money to win than pragmatic direct teams like Chelsea or Liverpool.

Exactly! We won the title by learning to deal with the inadequacies that have been there throughout the season. The win has glossed over the frailties. It’s odd therefore that we decided for all-out attack, with an OOF player, at the expense of defensive cover. After John Stones 1st to wobbles, the alarm bells were ringing and that should’ve been the call for defensive cover. But, alas…
We played to our weaknesses and it showed with the collective no-show!.

Guts me that Rodri was supposed to be a Fern replacement but just isn't good enough and that's left us with a gap in midfield.

Pep has always had something personel with Sergio too and that's cost us our greatest ever striker.

I just hope that Pep gets the players he wants for next season and the players we have remember the feeling of losing in a final.
