Champions League Final | Post-Match Thread

I think our squad is massively overrated if I’m being honest and it’s much closer in ability to Chelsea, Liverpool and United’s than people think.

It’s Pep’s coaching ability that makes us look so good.

We need to be aggressive in the summer transfer window though and add some quality to the attack.
This is correct.

also correct:
Fernandinho starts doesn’t mean we win.

Chelsea are a different type of team to PSG and Dortmund. They are more like United in their approach and we shit the bed against them as well.

I don’t think playing a DM would have made a blind bit of difference. The game was lost because Pep couldn’t solve the riddle to break down Chelsea’s defence.

This side was finished in the 70th minute last night and that is what hurts. We normally play our way right up until the final whistle, we are proud to fight to the end. Instead we rolled over and got our belly tickled.

How many times did Walker or Ederson lump it into the box? How many long throw ins into the box did we have?

We were mentally shot and tactically unprepared that’s the big worry.

This 100%. We had run out of ideas well before the end. I don’t think we would have scored had we played another 90 mins. Tuchal has got the measure of us that’s for sure. The lumping balls and long throw ins was a hard watch as it’s just not us but the players just didn’t know what to do so resorted to tactics usually seen at Burnley.

A discusting way to treat a man like Aguero don't think he will ever forgive Guardiola for it ( not that it matters ) but neither will I such a sour taste : (

I actually wonder whether this happened last night. The team vibe was strange. I imagine they will have thought the same thing as we did - is he over thinking this? And some of them already bear the scars of Monaco, Liverpool, Tottenham, Lyon. I wonder whether some of the senior players - Dinho, Kevin, Walker - might have voiced some opposition?
I hope they did oppose the team selection, at least after the game if not before. I hope his back room staff also have an opinion on such things and are not just ‘yes’ men. I hope our hierarchy saw the same things we saw and have the balls to question him.

he’s the best manager in the world, but Christ he’s prone to cock-ups

Chelsea can' win the league playing with a counter-attacking team but they will probably add a striker. They will evolve too.
I think their style of play is better suited to strong cup competitions. They are likely to loose surprise points to lesser teams, they are almost like the antithesis of City.

Gutting.

Not going to say anything different than all of you are thinking/said.

Why change it?

Tuchel Ole and Klopp , all 3 hit us on the counter and have Pep's measure.

He needs to get a grip of counter attacking teams and quickly.
