Has anyone in the media come out and had enough balls to ask the question whether Liverpools season can now be considered a failure after only winning two cups (on penalties) especially after bringing in the best wide player the league has ever seen (Diaz. - just incase anyone was unsure!)?
I bet most wont - yet we win the Prem League (again retaining it - somethign we were told a few years back that was the pinacle - for a the second time in 5 years) and yet if we dont win the CL we are questioned whether its enough....well the scousers didnt win it either so surely we can question whether they have done enough or if their season has been a failure?
And then there is the performance of some of their top players....Salah was awful for the vast majority of the game (and has been poor the second half of the season), Diaz pretty anonymous, Henderson woefully outclassed by a very ageing madrid midfield, VVD not looking half the player they reckon he is (infact Konate was much better) and TTA exposed again for what he is....a good attacking fullback but one who is exposed time and time again defensively.
All we get is soundbites from Klopp and he rest of the scouse infected media...they will be back, book the hotel for next year (how arrogant!) just look at what Klopp has done, how he motivates his team, they have won the domestic double (no denying that and it is an achievement BUT if that is what we had won Pep and the team would have been called failures)
Still laughing about the result. I never revel in others disappointment but just this once Im going to enjoy it....watching Slippy G's face and Owens face last night at the end of the game along with Spittys was brillaint!
