I think the government/Erdogan wants this to be proof that Turkey is open for tourist business this summer after their current lockdown, and it's safe and OK to go there on holiday.

So it's value as a PR move could be in the billions if it just nudges up tourism business a few %.

Also there's a lot of pride on the line with Erdogan, I suspect he's more likely to make it 50% or even 70% capacity rather than give it up to another country, but maybe that's unfair.

The only UK final possibility is Wembley IMO, because they can swap the 2024 final scheduled for Wembley and this Istanbul final.

If you give it to Hampden Park of the Millenium, you're taking a final away from Istanbul or Wembley and that's much harder to get people to agree to.

Surely you just push everyone back a year like they did last year.

It makes financial sense for places like Istanbul too, where you are going to get a full stadium next year with more fans going over to spend money in Turkey.

4K City and 4K Chelsea.
so they move it to the UK that means 17k uefa neutrals will travel from Turkey and various European countries to Cardiff, Glasgow or that dump down the road.
The Turkish local tickets are already sold.
Not a chance in hell it will be moved as non vaccinated neutrals will not be able to come to the UK without isolating in the UK for 10 days
