Champions League Final | Tickets - City Official Package + UEFA Tickets | 2022 Final (pg 1033)

The final decision will rest with the UK and Turkish governments whatever UEFA says.
Turkey isn’t on the red list now so no reason to think it will tomorrow? Turkey happy to host it. It will be going ahead in Istanbul. Almost certain at least from the outset Turkey will be amber list country

Is it true that Aston villa have approached UEFA & The Fa to offer the use of their stadium to play the champs league final .
Think it should be moved to somewhere in the uk ,it would make more sense.
Why make 4,000 fans of both clubs go to a country where they are in full lockdown & possibly will still not be under control by 29th May .

Agree with the post that it would be fun to have them show it at lower league stadiums around the North West, city will have an idea of where both season ticket holders and individual ticket buyers live so could tailor it to them, Etc. Stockport, Rochdale, Wigan, Bolton? with then having a "Main" screening at the Etihad

Not my screenshot and unsure of source but this explains the reasons why Villa Park would not hold the final, the 3 stadiums in the UK that can hold it would be Old Trafford (not happening at a stadium that is literally falling to bits), Millennium Stadium or Hampden Park

Agreed. Not Turkey's fault it's going to be an all English final. Why should they miss out on the honour of staging the CL final.
I doubt they want that honour now. Do a deal and ask them to host it in 1-2 years time when the honour outweighs all the administrative problems

The administrative problems would arise from now having to move it. It is expected that the capacity will be 25,000 and that has been set by the Turkish government, not UEFA. You won't get more people in at any ground if it was moved to England. You'd get more fans but not more people.

UEFA will not move it for reasons of sentimentality or convenience. They won't move it for health reasons because that is in the hands of the host nation.

We will have to get used to the fact that, barring something completely unforeseen, this match WILL take place in Istanbul.

Think the club are looking into potentially putting on a series of screenings across the city. They're completely relaying the pitch this summer though and have strict timings with when things have to be done in relation to that which might rule out showing it on a big screen inside The Etihad.
When Leicester won the pl, they wanted to show their final away games on big screens. They were told by Sky that it was a definite no no. There was a huge outcry by Leicester pub owners who were paying a fortune in monthly subscriptions and faced the prospect of losing up to 30,000 potential customers. Wouldnt Manchester publicans, who are already on their knees, make the same objections?

I'm going to book somewhere now I think, better safe than sorry
