Champions League Final | Tickets - City Official Package + UEFA Tickets | 2022 Final (pg 1033)

Just found this from City's official travel partner - Sportsworld (no, me neither)

Pertinent section.
UEFA and the Portuguese government have requested that all official travel is restricted to day trip private charters to reduce the chance of spreading COVID-19, due to thousands of supporters expected travel from the UK.

Similar to the clubs statement, you can interpret it however you wish, but I read that as no restriction on unofficial/independent travel.
Looks like that - the stipulation for Turkey was 1,500 would need to travel on official trips, I could see it being similar.

I admire all the effort & enthusiasm from everyone who are going to Portugal & salute you all
Me I will be Getting my blue smoke bombs ready to let off & a couple of crates while having a bar b q
Just orderd a new City flag & polo shirt
Where ever you are watching it enjoy the moment Come on you Blues

"Requested" rather than "mandated". Positive signs for the independent traveller but it may impact the sales criteria to a League Cup scenario whereby only a certain number of tickets are sold to people travelling independently.

Thinking about similar from Edinburgh
How many tests do you think you will need and what cost for them

Test 1 = £82.50 (PCR before leaving Manchester through Collinson at MAN airport on Weds)

Test 2 = €30 (Antigen done in Faro via Synlabs on Thurs)

Test 3 = £45 (Home PCR via eurofins within 72 hours of arrival back in UK but don’t care about any delays getting result!)

I don’t trust the postal service for a home PCR before I leave so will just do it in person at the clinic at the airport ~72 hours before boarding to be sure.

This was from last week, before the announcement on travel restrictions being lifted.

I think what’s key in that wording is that ‘official’ trips i.e. those organised by the club need to be day trips to limit the numbers. Hence City not arranging overnight trips. Plenty will want to travel that way anyhow. From memory Istanbul was set to be like that 4,500 (general) and an additional 1,500 on official transport

Brilliant that really clarifies things for me
