Why are the EFL being so accommodating saying they will move the play offs?

Anyway, I dont think it should be at Wembley If the play offs are scheduled there. Most of the players who play in the play off final would never get the chance to play at Wembley again and I'm sure they would be pissed off if they had to play at villa park or similar instead.

Maybe it will cost the EFL more than they will bring in, having the play offs in a near empty Wembley?

Wembley would be great for me as I had already made mind up that travelling outside UK not happening, so took risk few weeks ago and booked hotel and train to London that weekend with family....thought could always watch game in pub there and visit the Queen.

I think Boris will give UEFA what they want to have final at Wembley as he will want to show UK leading on covid recovery, stick one to Europe and he loves to be popular......come on Boris sort it ou for the fans!

As far as I know, it is not a UEFA Cat 4 stadium (necessary for changing rooms quality and TV sightlines etc). Maybe it just hasn't had its certificate yet.
There would also be the issue of policing two events in London on the same day if the playoffs were the same day which would be an issue for the Met and Transport police.

It has the worst transport links for a major stadium of that size in all of europe and having been was a pain in that arse waiting for a train back.

If they can't go for Lisbon (blue list but no Euros plans), or Budapest (which will have Euros plans), looks like Wembley or bust (well, Istanbul).

A real bummer this. Even if Istanbul is shifted to amber, it will be after the ticketing decisions is made. Been looking forward to another trip there.

I can't see Turkey becoming amber before the final but, if it does, it will be so late in the day that nobody will be able to do anything in time.

I think that it would need such a lot of upheaval to move it to Wembley when it is far easier to ringfence the travelling parties to Istanbul. Alas, I feel our first CL final will be played without any of our fans or Chelsea fans in attendance.

Can’t understand why Cardiff isn’t an option when it hosted the final as recently as 2017?
