Champions League Games 13/14 April

Our Trev has hit back:

The double spectacle wearing idiots reasons fall short as well, he is constantly whinging on about if PSG didn't have the money then Mbappe and Neymar wouldn't be there, sort of stating the bloody obvious without even recognising that they wouldn't be at any team that wasn't prepared to open up big pockets.

If the rags didn't pay they wouldn't go.
If the bin dippers didn't pay they wouldn't go.
Same for barca and RM.

I had to laugh at the "Better Livery" bollox :)

Our midfield is too slow to stop their quick break. It would just be a case of hoping our defence deal with it by the time they reach our box.

They’re the exact sort of team that will highlight one of our two biggest deficiencies (slow in midfield and our poor finishing).
Agree but I like it when Bernado Jesus and Phil keep the high press on all 3 have energy levels and forces opposition to release the ball, our big issue is losing the ball when we’ve committed to a more aggressive attack, it’s this scenario where your point is spot on.
Need to ring two or three top performances from Fern in front of back four for me to win this damned trophy

To be fair to the lad he tries to entertain and gets kicked all over the pitch as a result

Spends more time on the floor than a carpet.

Would have have much better reputation if he cut out all the play acting and histrionics.

Unfortunately he made his bed years ago so its a shame he feels the need to cheat rather than be judged on his natural talent and ability.

Thought it was a great contest with Hernandez last night.

At least 90% of the times he went down yesterday were for fouls that actually took him out. He wasn't even particularly soft.

I think you're seeing what you want to see, having biases confirmed etc.

At Barcelona he was pretty quick to go down, but France has really toughened him up, they kick the shit out of him every week and the referees only give half of the fouls. France is bad for that, you've basically got some League 1 level teams and pitches hacking down Champions League players.

There was an incident when he got badly hurt a couple of years ago, and the player who did it to him made 3 stonewall yellow, hacks at him that the referee just ignored and broke his metatarsal.

He got his own back by flicking the ball over the guy's head from the free kick, but had to come off and missed 3 months with the broken foot.

Neymar, Messi ...these guys are a lot harder than they get credit for because they do get targeted on purpose game after game.

It's strange that EUFA don't play one game at 18:00 and one at 20:00 to maximise TV audiences. Then we could watch Liverpool go out to pass the time before the mighty blues progress.

I believe all that went before with Neymar set the scene for the treatment he gets.

He has matured these last seasons.

What goes around comes around.

Messi on the other hand doesn't get anywhere near the same treatment as he's been more honest during his career and for me, that's the delta between the two.
