There is a reason that Madrid might win this 4 times in 5 years.
They have the best defence in Europe. While we drool over Kevin, David, Leroy there is also an art to defending although it is not so obvious. But 9 times out of 10 Ramos, Varane, Marcello are in the right place They smell danger and deal with it. They don't make life difficult for themselves like the Bayern defenders did tonight.

There is no way Liverpool beat Madrid, for apart from the above they also have a midfield that is going to make Henderson's head fall off.

We were not soundly beaten by Liverpool at all in fact I would say for most most of the tie we had control of the game.

The difference was the officials not giving the correct decisions at vital times in the tie, every time we scored it was disallowed which sort of makes a huge difference in a football match.

Granted we need to improve defensively Otamendi is a suicide waiting to happen each time he runs the ball out from the back but there is no way this Liverpool side soundly beat us, there arses would have gone if the Sane goal stood and Pep wouldn't have been sent off.

Was looking forward to seeing Thiago tonight after the hype on the transfer thread. Well what a let down, thought he was pretty awful. Then again most players on the pitch looked poor tonight.

yes, unfortunately oportunistic football seems to be more effective in cup ties these last few years. i know most of you guys hate liverpool but i hate real way more than them so ill be hoping they win it all if bayern cant come through in the second leg
