Champions League Games 5/6 March

We were because we were the best french "european team" and they can't do their things without getting people from the big federations. Bit like their fabled Super League : PSG was put in there, not because they are at the helm of the project, but because if you don't have a big french club, TV and shit won't follow.
Point in case, PSG wasn't the one introducing those rules that are targetting PSG and City. You could see that when we were both punished but rules got "loose" when Milan clubs got bought. Aulas, Lyon president, is pretty much that one that had been pushing for those rules in France.
Sorry mate, I wasn't having a go at PSG, good luck and all that.

I was just pointing out that you were part of that cartel called G14, and for a long time, so many on here forget that, so need reminding, and I do think you get less grief from the former members than we get.

[IQUOTE="bluwes, post: 11606610, member: 337"]And will be allowed to fluke it further because they are members of the old G14 elite[/QUOTE]
We shall see, no help needed if PSG turned up.

Whatever the f**k that is ?

We should, but doesn't mean we will, see liverpool last year, who we should have beaten.

Yeah possibly, but on the evidence of tonight, I'd put them on par with liverpool and united in the "should" category, but football is not about theory, its about the results, and many things can affect them, such as officials/injuries/bad day at the office.....

You seem to be agreeing with me without agreeing with fact you agree with me.

Put it this way... Who would you prefer to be in the mix the round after next? PSG? Utd? Also wouldn’t you trust PSG to knock someone like Atletico out more than Utd?

Then factor in it means we are in the same fatigue predicament as them when we face them in the league.

Bonkers if you don’t think tonight’s result is best for City.

And who operates VAR?

I'm not getting into a paranoid argument that the higher beings have an issue with this football club.

We are looking like a QF, we are Top of the League, we are in the FA Cup QF and we have Won the League Cup.

That's all I need to see.

I think I would rather us play a deflated United than one getting confidence from taking out one of Europe's elite.

They will be deflated when they don’t touch the ball for the opening 10 mins.

They simply don’t have the individual brilliance that could hurt us in the way PSG could.

It’s a no brainier.

Absolutely agree with this. Just seems like another layer of decision making that can be used to get the intended result.
I’ll be much happier once I see a decision like tonight’s happen to one of the darling clubs. As it stands I can’t help but fear VAR is, as you say, being used to get the intended result. But let’s be open minded, let’s see if a pen is given using VAR when it hits the back of a united, Liverpool or Barca player’s arm when he’s literally got his back to the ball and his arm is more or less dangling parallel to his body. I won’t hold my breath but maybe they are going to be consistent across the board on this.

Ah right so it's possible to have a bias against and individual but not a club. Sounds plausible.

Shouldn't be too complicated so I'm not sure what's giving you trouble. A certain manager is paranoid because he feels a certain referee has it out for him. That doesn't make it true.

Situation 2: Fanboy sitting in his basement is convinced that Lahoz (for some reason or another ) has it out for Manchester City football club, without a shred of evidence or anything that might impel Lahoz to do so.

Neither am I, was looking forward to the implementation of VAR. I actually believed the law makers wanted to use it to get decisions right. However there have been a few incidents recently, mainly in La Liga that have me questioning the consistent application.

Which ties? Every single knockout tie that we have lost in the past 8 years has been because of corrupt officials cheating (for some weird reason)?
Come on.
You've already forgotten which games you put down to our defenders mistakes?(hint...the Liverpool ones). You clearly want to move onto this 8years topic when it's neither here nor there and I've just told you I'm not even sure there is a conspiracy, certainly not for 8 years.

I think you'll find a lot on here will happily admit, that for a long time, even if there was a conspiracy, we did a good job of knocking ourselves out of Europe for most of those 8years(ie there'd have been no point in one).

Last year was different and again if you're putting us being knocked out by Liverpool, solely down to our defenders mistakes, then that is as I said, it's bollocks because with the right decisions, we would have gone through even if our defenders gifted two goals at Anfield.

If we'd have gone in 2-0 up at half time with the 2 away goals(assuming we score the stonewall penalty) at the Etihad, I find it hard to believe we give up 2 goals in the second half the way we did. We'd have just passed them to death with keep ball while the crowd shouts Olé. Another way of putting it is, we could have even let them have their offside opening goal, which changed the game and still gone through.
