Champions League games 8/9 Dec

20:46: PSG 0-0 Istanbul
Dialogue from the isolated pitch microphones:
Referee: "Care a fost?" (Which one was it)
4th Official: "Era bărbatul negru" (It was the black man)
Referee: "OK OK"

What is wrong with that? Should he have said ‘person of colour’ or BAME player?
He should of used his name like a normal person would

He can point to the person, and if there is further confusion or questions, demand that they come over to speak to the referee to confirm identity.

There is absolutely no reason to say “the black guy” — and given that everything that has happened recently, anyone even doing it “innocently” is one monumentally stupid **** and should not be officiating.

Black in romanian is negru, looks like this may be a honest misunderstanding?

I have no problem describing people by their characteristics, including race, I’d still find it distasteful in the context.

He’s right in front of him with a name and number, just say ‘number 9’ or the guys name. You wouldn’t say ‘book the white guy’, ‘book the gay guy’ etc.
