I've said from the very beginning within time nobody will take it seriously, they'll play second string sides to get through and take whatever they get.

its more beneficial to save legs and rotate during those 8 games over the 4 months and perhaps have to play 2 extra games at the end than to go all out in the league phase and have no guarantee of an advantageous draw.

As proven by the Dippers topping the table and getting PSG. Just going to take one team to approach it like that and it be successful and everybody will be doing it the year after.
 
Make no mistake, if we had the entire PSG squad right now, we wouldn't be playing that way. Peps Insistence on a rigid, slow passing game would have PSG look just as toothless as we often do.

Yes I've been saying exactly the same, get enough to go through but save your legs for the league.

If you go out in the playoffs through having to play one extra round you weren't good enough to win it.

Again people saying that the grouo stages didn't matter. I guess they are ignoring the fact thatthe other 3 semifinalists are the teams who were 2nd,3rd and 4th in the group stages...only Liverpool failed, and it was only because of penalties.

We were incredibly close to all the best 4 teams in the group stages being in the SF, and still there are some here stupid enough to say thatit didn't matter at all...

I for one definitely am not undervaluing Inter they will be a major pain in arse for anyone else to play against for all the reasons you mention. Barca and PSG at their best look pretty irresistible currently so they are the favorites for me with Inter as a live dark horse. It's a fascinating end to the tournament now tbf and I guess you can't rule Arsenal out now either after their result (I know they've still to finish it off in Madrid next week)
