Actually, tongue-in-cheek or no, the dippers of 2018-19 could more reasonably make that claim. Because in the vast majority of seasons, that points total they amassed would have made them champions. That is a simple mathematical fact.
Simply, the dippers were unlucky enough to come up against an unstoppable force combined with an immovable object. By contrast, Arsenal came up against a supremely good team in 2022-23, no arguing with that, but an already declining team in my view, ready for being refreshed, in 2023-24.
I think they've missed the window. Liverpool will not be as good next season— I'd be astonished if they were — and we'll be better.

Done really well to get this far and was always on the back foot after a home loss. Started off well with intensity but needed better finishing to put PSG under pressure. You then dropped off, naturally after the eager start, and for the remainder of the game, were just another team who gets beat.

Personally, I found Arsenal extremely frustrating. Did Arteta give up on playing football and decide that the only way to win was to play like Stoke (or United in today’s terms)?

Long throws, long balls, keeper hoofs it, what was Arteta thinking?

Arsenal's tactics, such as they were - long throws, feigning injuries every time they were dispossessed, keeper hoofing free kicks from the halfway line into rhe mixer, overly choreographed set pieces that yeilded the sum total of fuck all. (and all that from one if the most expensively assembled teams in the history of the sport) - they were, quite simply, an embarrassment to the Premier League.
Not that the fawning UK media will tell you that.
