I think people on here are underestimating Sporting Lisbon.

They are a good team.

This is going to be a tuff game.

Villa Real was a much easier draw.

Obviously a lot of time between now and the 1st leg but does anyone know the current Portugal situation regarding foreign away fans

Comparing the relative strengths of different countries’ leagues is always going to be something of an inexact science.
However you look at it though, going out of the competition at this stage to either Villarreal or Sporting would be pretty disastrous for us based on the football world’s current perception of City. Totally agree that we shouldn’t take anything for granted though.
 
As tickets for the away leg will be like gold dust I am taking one for the team. Even though I have circa 17k points and in the cup scheme.......

I will be somewhere between Sydney and Abu Dhabi when we kick off.
