Champions League Last 16 Draw | City v Sporting Clube de Portugal

Was going to try this (been to Lisbon, wonderful place) but despite travelling a lot during the pandemic I wont be paying for a load of tests for what is now no worse than a bout of mild flu. Will wait until sanity returns.

No issue with paying for tests and jumping through hoops in the recent past but that was when we didnt really know what we were dealing with and now we do.

Its impossible to stop the spread, I got it at Christmas ( 3 jabs) as did all my family and before anyone preaches I lost one of my best mates to Covid in April.
Spot on

Don't think you will get many arguments that it is a money making scheme.

However, from what I understand, the latest rules mean there aren't many tests required on the UK side - just a lateral flow on return (and a PCR if that is positive).

In terms of entry into Portugal, it looks like one negative Lateral flow (taken within 48 hours prior to arrival) OR an even cheaper alternative might potentially be a certificate of recovery. I also got Covid over Christmas (I think at Brentford), so this is something I'm going to look into the practicalities of.

Rules might change a bit anyway between now and then I guess.

No PCR test required after a positive LFT as of today, just been sent the speil from my company admin bods.. Still need a PCR and fill out a passenger locator form going out to Portugal, regardless of vaccine status

Antigen is fine for Portugal no need for PCR, you also do need a PCR back in the UK if you test positive with symptoms.

If your LFT is positive when you come back, you need to get a PCR so they can "identify any new strains". If it is negative you dont need one.

For arriving in Portugal, as per the Portuguese governments tourism website:
  • Mandatory negative test for all flights arriving in Portugal, even for those who have a digital vaccination certificate, regardless of the point of origin of the flight or the passenger's nationality:

    - RT-PCR Test (or similar NAAT test) - 72h before boarding, or
    - Laboratorial Rapid Antigen Test - 48h before boarding, or
    - A valid test or recovery EU Digital COVID Certificate, or

    - A valid recovery certificate issued by a third country, under reciprocal conditions:Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Switzerland, El Salvador, Faroe Islands, Georgia, Israel, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Monaco, Morocco, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Panama, San Marino, Serbia, Singapore, Togo, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, The Vatican (https://ec.europa.eu/info/live-work...nes-europeans/eu-digital-covid-certificate_en)
  • Children under 12 do not need to present test.
  • All passengers need to fill online a Passenger Locator Form (individually) at https://portugalcleanandsafe.pt/en/passenger-locator-card, after check-in and before departure time. The QR Code generated when filling out the PLF can be presented in paper or digital form

No worries, thanks for updating my nonsense, I just presumed it would apply same as staying in the uk but makes perfect sense having a PCR to identify the strain .. I stand corrected
