Champions League Last 16 draw - Schalke v City

Games are played in mid Feb we should be fine by then. All teams are physical in champs lge I've seen that with our group this season.
Physical intensity mate, Atleti are a different league, they don't start well like Hoffenheim and fade or play in 10 minute spells like Lyon, they go for 90 minutes and stoppage time non stop and if we're fatigued they will murder us.

I don't think you've watched Atletico Madrid in a couple of years.

Costa is probably done at the top level, they've sent him for some hopeful surgery but he's been bad for a year. Godin, Felipe Luis and Juanfran are 33/34.

They are miles off the team they were in 2013-2016.

I've watched them in the big games, well aware they're inconsistent with it now but when it comes to a big knock out tie they're a team I do not want to face in February.

In terms of cheap flights, quick route, friendly fans, decent police, value for money, and potentially easiest game, then it's got to be Schalke

Atletic will be the hardest opponent, Ajax will bring out the worst in City's travelling support, and Rome will be a lovely afternoon followed by a horrible matchday experience.

Atleti would chew Ajax up mate, they're way ahead of Bayern at the minute.

Have to disagree there it would be a very close game. I’ve a lot of respect for AM buy Ajax are the new kids on the block and are playing different gravy.

I remember when people said Ajax stood no chance v AC Milan many moons ago and they shredded them. It looks to me that they are a real danger in this tournament. Their underlying statistics are very impressive.

Nice video all about how they play like us here...

Easy group mate, Bayern are a spent force, Benfica are utter shite(0 points in the rags group last season), Athens are even worse. Ajax are very inexperienced, there's a big leap between talent, which they have in fuckloads and ability. Their only chance in the round of 16 is Porto imo and I think we'd walk that match.

Agree that experience is important and counts for a lot and on that basis AM might well beat them. I think it’s still what holds us back.

However, I disagree with your take on Bayern. They’re not as good as recent history and have an ageing side but they too have the experience and they’re top 5 for me and far from done.

In terms of who they could draw and the likely outcome I agree that 6 of the sides would probably beat them but Ajax would be my favourites v Porto and Dortmund.

I’d be happy with Roma and very happy with Schalke.

AM I’d worry because of their experience but I do think they are declining as the figures suggest and I think we would scrape through.

Ajax we should beat too but would be the last of the four I wanted. They’re the fastest improving team in the World imho.

Dortmund are lethal going forward, don't fancy that Ajax defence against them at all.
