If we are capable of beating them now we won't be capable of beating them in the later rounds so might as well be out and concentrate on the league.

That's my stance on the draw. Not bothered who we get, we have to beat whoever we get drawn against. And if we cant do that we will be rightly eliminated - we can then concentrate on regaining the league title

Amsterdam can be pricey though, Gelsenkirchen is cheap as chips.

Went schalke via dam last time so cost a bomb. Ajax cost me as well but much better culturally...

Ajax charged £65 for our last visit. Schalke will be less than £40

For Schalke, we’d have a choice of at least 6 airports, and then we could all do our own thing (from supping with the Germans, to finding the nearest Irish Bar).

Amsterdam would be one square mile of vice, full of City scrotes singing FEYENOORD at the locals, yet strangely taking offence when UNITED comes pinging in reverse.

Everyone would start throwing beer and then the police would close the bars.

Oh wait a minute: that’s what happened last time.

First leg is definitely away but the last 16 is spread over 2 weeks , so the first leg is either 12th or 13th or the following week 19th or 20th.
