Congrats to the Mackems.

Fifteen months ago I saw them at the Reebok get trounced by Bolton 6-0 in league one.

But hats off to them. Since that day they dusted themselves down, got into the play offs and won promotion at Wembley.

Then their manager Alex Neil jumped ship to join Stoke in August after the season started.

However, they had the foresight to appoint a very decent and experienced lower league manager in Tony Mowbray who has slowly and steadily improved them as this season has worn on.

Well done to the thousands in the rain at Preston!!!

I'm so pleased for Sunderland. Hope they go up in the playoffs. Brilliant fans and I've always liked and respected Tony Mowbray. He was a very good centre half, now a very good manager as well as a top man.

Blackburn did us all a favour in more ways than one!

It's a myth. They're lovely folk down there, real "salt of the earth" types. They'd give you their last Rolo. And if you hadn't struck lucky lately, they'd loan you their sister or their mum.
