Championship Thread - 2023/24

As much as I want Wednesday to stay up I hope Plymouth do as well. Fond memories of our late 80s young side playing against them in League and Cup. No one would miss Millwall though.

Watched Plymouth v Leicester last night. It was like watching one of those City matches where you know it just isn't going to happen and that you'll let in the first shot on target.

Thought Leicester played well enough, but:

a) Faes cannot defend. He's fairly good on the ball, but defensively he's rubbish.
b) Daka can't finish, which surprised me a little, thought he was better.
c) Mavididi and Fatawu were ok, but thought Mavididi's head went down too often, seemed like he knew there was no way back.

Not paid that much attention to the Championship, but my best guess to reason for the slump is that Leicester have been too good, resulting in the deep low block with a packed defense that we also experience.

Guessing everyone was more open against them at the start of the season, but thats not the case any more? It becomes a struggle at times, we know that too.

After last nights result it feels like we will just fall short, if we get a result today (and that's a big if) I feel everybody else will also get a result.

Psychologically if we could just get our head above the line for a week it might really put the pressure on the others down there.

Where did I leave that Kate Bush/Peter Gabriel video? You're goal difference away from safety, three points (and GD) away from 19th place.

Next week's game at Blackburn is huge, they have a terrible run in too.
