Championship Thread | 2025/26

Southampton after a disastrous start have now won 5 out the last 6. A win tomorrow and they could be within touching distance of the play offs.

Preston doing well currently in 4th place.

Coventry with a bit of a wobble. Only one point from their last two games. Home today against Bristol City (10th). They should win, but you just don't know. Those last two games might have just planted a seed of doubt in their minds?

Just watched Wrexham v Watford, and saw the most ridiculous bit of refereeing. Watford spent most of the second half time wasting, which caused a number of yellows, eventually Watfords manager Gracia got a red for something he said.

Meanwhile Watford had an attacking free kick in stoppage time, now the dugouts are on the opposite side of the pitch to the tunnel, and the referee made everyone wait until Gracia had walked round half the pitch to the tunnel, where he subsequently "fell over" causing further delay. This all took about 2 extra minutes, is that actually the rule ? Obviously if a player is sent off, he'd take the direct route, but a manager has to walk round the pitch, seems stupid to me.

I would assume that there's a rule banning managers or coaching staff from the playing area while the game is ongoing?

Fair play to anyone who goes to watch Wednesday at this time. At rock bottom.

Would struggle in league one with the current side. Very similar to City in the 90s.

When you go from a squad that was bottom 6 last season, lose 13 players and only bring a couple in you just know what the end result is.

You know things are bad when the lad doesn't want to go, me I checked out a couple of years ago. The body may be there but mentally I'm just making up the numbers :)

The Xmas period will be brutal, 5 games in 15 days for a paper thin squad starting at Ipswich on Saturday, expecting this could be a proper shoeing.

Is it May yet?
