i agree but in the conditions of the sponser a certain number of games may have to be on TV live so it may have just fallen right for this situationShouldn’t be in such a big game, surely.

I would guess the rules may well have changed since then. Too much money involved in kit deals - the manufacturers insist on each kit being worn on a minimum number of occasions each season. And when there’s cash involved, PL will be only too happy to change its regulations.
