Its Guinness time any day of the week.
We had a similar topic titled "DO WE TRUST THE OWNER ??"
The response was an emphatic YES and so it should have been.
However, with news now coming in and the hike of a 6% increase in ST,is that still the case ??
It appears that the main concern isn`t the actual 6% ST increase, but the overall problems with the movement of families, additional increases being aimed at other groups.
Is this the start of more movement away from the true traditional fan,and now becoming more like the Rags with CORPORATE IMAGE taking a higher profile ??
The old song springs to mind :
"There May Be Trouble Ahead"
So do we still trust our owners ?????????????????????

I don't think the owner himself has set the ticket prices or the scheme, whoever did that should be fucking sacked. But yes.

yes.....but......no....but.....yes......but....no.....but.....

arrr...my gut feeling is still yes, but i'm a bit pissed with the ticket price hike, might only be 6% but i'm struggling to get the money together in time as it is ;(

Be interesting to see how long we get to pay it to get the best price

It appears that the main concensus, regards the movement of people and not so much the actual 6% increase. However other ST holders may be paying more to accomodate this "New Family North Stand"

owners saved city.
owners made city a good team for the first time in 30 years.
owners put ticket prices down before putting them up a little bit.
SACK THE BOARD!

Hang on a second, we want the owner to buy the best and invest vast amounts of cash into our club, yet we don't want to pay a bit more to help keep this a reality. Seems a bit of double standards to me.

I don't like the price increase as much as the next man, yet now we are investing mOre, don't expect the owner to endlessly foot the bill.

Premature. Lets get the facts first, eh?

Having read the posts from people who attended the Meeting, this will be happening as from next season.
Some of the posts came from people, we know do NOT come in with "fairy stories"

I'm not saying what they are saying is not true, just that we most probably do NOT have all of the information.

I am a little insecure about the Sheikh, because I have never seen him publicly mention City, or attend a City game. I'm not a smart man with UAE politics, but I'd feel much better if I saw him cheer once Tevez has scored from 30 yards.

Khaldoon and Cook, on the other hand, I'd let babysit my (future) kids. They have both consistently shown me that they actually give a fuck and know how to run a club, which is all that you really want from the top guys.

I'm a bit miffed about the 6% rise as it changes my conceptions about the club. In my mind (and this is nobody's fault but my own) I had this image of the club as a PR exercise and a short term spend, long term gain, business model. A bit like Amazon's Get Big Quick strategy for those web or business geeks out there.

Let's be completely honest here, we aren't exactly selling out anyway, why raise ticket prices to further alienate the mostly working class support of the club?

In my book, this isn't just a mistake, they are setting a precedent that they will turn us into the next Chelsea. Expensive players on ridiculous wages, funded by our £1000 season tickets. I certainly hope that this won't be the case in 5 years time, but I fear that it may be.

really do hope thats not the case mate...i had the same idea as you, that they would invest big to make a push and recoup losses over a longer period of time with the fans

Ridiculous thread.

Care to enlighten us why ?????????????

I asked a question based on the earlier thread which was an emphatic YES,which I agreed with.
I am asking if that is still the case,so why is it ridiculous, when dozens of fans are already enraged.
The Sheikh employs these people to make decisions on his behalf.
It has NOTHING to do with the 6% increase, but the manner in which thousands of contented fans are NOW going to be subjected to moves, which makes a mockery of once again Gary Cooke and his cronnies stating that the Club is for the fans !!!!!!!!
Well that appears to be different now.
I suggest you read the thread ref the 6% increase and get a "feel " on what the true fans think of this !!

I hope not as well because i have already been priced out of the game :(

I have read every post on the other thread since it started. I have mixed feelings as I too will be affected by the changes. I am however managing to avoid knee jerk hysteria until I can make an informed decision as to which side of the fence I will sit. One thing for certain though is that the Sheikh has given us hope and players of a calibre that we never thought we would see again. The realistic possibility of overtaking the scum and becoming a true force in Europe is also there. I agree, the moves have been ill thought out, in my opinion movers should be allowed to have their new seat at the same price as their old one for a year as a "sweetner" for moving but there are obviously economic reasons for doing this and I for one am willing to trust people who should be more competent than I am to make the right decisions for the club. There will allways be changes, my first game was over 35 years ago and in that time the changes have been dramatic. Everyone is a true fan whether they have been supporting for 1 game or 1,000 games. We can allways tell the Sheikh to take back his money, his players, his optimism and with it our future and we can go back to watching the likes of Jamie Pollock and driving to York. I agree with alot that is said but to start unnecessarily reactionary threads is not helpfull at this point and yes, I think, ridiculous. One question I have that noody seems to have asked is, why do we need a far bigger family stand anyway? Is there a waiting list for the current one? Well you did ask!
